Chapter 241 - Chapter 241: Kurotsuchi, Lacking Martial Ethics

Chapter 241: Kurotsuchi, Lacking Martial Ethics

The ruins looked eerie and gloomy, covered in thorns and weathered by wind and sun. They appeared extremely dilapidated, remnants from who knows what era. Fortunately, they were ninjas, not historians, so they weren't interested in the age of the ruins.

About fifteen minutes after Kurotsuchi and her group entered the ruins, Danzo and his men caught up. The old man intended to play the role of the oriole stalking the mantis. The previous head of the Kamizuru clan had likely buried the secret technique scroll here because he valued the seclusion. In the middle of a vast loess plateau, finding a ruin that had been buried due to terrain changes was indeed a difficult task without the guidance of the Bikochu beetle.

This ruin resembled an ancient tomb, with various mechanisms like crossbows, trapdoors, and giant boulders appearing intermittently within its interior. Thankfully, Kurotsuchi's group were all ninjas. Even without a clear path, they could adhere to the walls with chakra and move as if on flat ground.

Following the Bikochu deep underground, they eventually found a coffin in a side hall of the tomb. Two Iwa ninjas forcefully pushed open the lid, revealing a male skeleton holding a scroll marked with the character "First." The Bikochu circled around the skeleton, confirming this was the previous head of the Kamizuru clan.

Before anyone could celebrate, Danzo, his face grim, charged in with his men.

"Danzo?! You actually dared to come to the Land of Earth?! Do you want to start a war between our two villages?!" Kurotsuchi demanded, her voice fierce but tinged with inner trepidation.

All nine Iwa ninjas, including the Kamizuru kunoichi holding the scroll, wore solemn expressions. Being cornered in such a desolate tomb by Danzo Shimura of the Leaf Village and his group felt like the situation had deteriorated to the absolute worst. Kurotsuchi stood at the forefront of the group, providing a slight boost to their morale. No matter how unreasonable Konoha ninjas are, surely they wouldn't dare lay a hand on Kurotsuchi, would they? She's the Tsuchikage's own granddaughter! The Iwa ninjas felt a wave of anxiety.

Danzo maintained his usual appearance: a black drape half-covering him, a moon-colored inner garment, his right eye wrapped in bandages, and leaning on a cane with both hands. Feeling certain of victory, he stepped forward. He first looked at the Kamizuru kunoichi holding the "First" scroll, then spoke with immense authority.

"That kunoichi stole something belonging to the Leaf Village..."

He paused for a moment. As he spoke, he observed the other nine Iwa ninjas apart from Kurotsuchi. He saw no signs of hidden masters pretending to be weak. Including himself, he had a full thirty ninjas; the other side had only ten. There was no need for a fight; they would have to swallow this bitter loss in silence. As for killing Kurotsuchi here? He felt that if they were foolishly stubborn, then killing her would just be something that happened.

An old person's train of thought was a bit slow. Before he could even fully think it through, Kurotsuchi, just five steps away, attacked fiercely. Kurotsuchi's movements were extremely fast. Shifting her center of gravity forward, she pushed off the ground with her two sturdy long legs, her body shooting out like a swift leopard. Then, her right hand formed a claw. Expressionless, she aimed directly at Danzo's right eye socket and struck!

Damn it!We weren't even finished talking yet! How could you just attack?! Does your Stone Village not have martial ethics classes?!

Danzo's left eye stared intently at Kurotsuchi. Her move was sharp, deadly, and extremely purposeful. That grab reminded him of Yugito Nii, the jinchuriki from the Cloud Village; both possessed the same chilling killer intent.

Kurotsuchi's fingers were slender, her fingernails even painted with shiny black nail polish. Watching her fingers get closer and closer to his eye, Danzo used his full strength and leaned his head back. His brain had reacted, but just like the Third Hokage's significant decline in "Strength," "Speed," and "Precision," time was a ninja's greatest enemy. His once nimble movements had become today's difficult steps; his aging body was no longer able to respond effectively.

He felt Kurotsuchi's fingers pierce the bandages on his face, then directly insert into his eye socket. Her finger hooked, turned slightly, severing the optic nerve. Then she grabbed his eyeball and pulled it out effortlessly! His right eyeball was removed by Kurotsuchi with extremely fast technique.

"Aargh!" Danzo cried out in pain. He had completely underestimated this young girl who still smelled of milk, never expecting her to attack him, much less deliver a strike that pierced him to the heart with pain right from the start! His body hurt, but his heart hurt even more. The Mangekyo Sharingan he had forcibly taken from Shisui Uchiha back in the day was directly dug out!

This scene of eye-gouging seemed no different from back in the day. However, before, he was the one who dug out eyes; now he had become the one whose eyes were dug out. The feeling of the actions of both was similar – using lightning speed that gave no time to cover the ears to forcibly seize the enemy's eye.

Danzo's heart was full of rage. This was truly a case of "spending all day hunting geese, only to have his eye pecked out by a goose." If he were facing a strong enemy like the Third Tsuchikage, anticipating a high-risk battle, he would definitely have prematurely lifted the seals on his arm that prevented detection by the Byakugan, or even used Izanagi in advance to negate all subsequent unfavorable effects he would suffer.

The problem was, he completely did not anticipate Kurotsuchi would attack him, and be so straightforward and clean about it. Now, let alone Izanagi, he hadn't even released the Sharingan seals on his arm. Against a single Kurotsuchi, he hadn't even had the slightest thought of using Izanagi. He only had eleven Sharingan in total; every one used was one less. No matter how he looked at it, there was no need to waste it on a junior like her. Yet, this time, he had capsized in a drainage ditch.

He hated Kurotsuchi to death. This matter was definitely premeditated! This was his first thought. Kill all these people and take back the Mangekyo Sharingan! This was his second thought! Seeing Kurotsuchi put the Sharingan into a container she had already prepared, he became even more certain of his previous thought. This was a conspiracy specifically against him! Which of his trusted subordinates leaked the information? Orochimaru? Itachi Uchiha? Or perhaps it was Shisui Uchiha, whose body was never found? Having done too many bad things, with enemies all over the world, for a moment, it was truly hard to pinpoint the suspect.

Things happened too quickly. Even the Root ninjas hadn't anticipated such a sudden turn of events. In the blink of an eye, Kurotsuchi of the Stone Village dug out Lord Danzo's eye? Was that eye Lord Danzo always covered a good eye? If it was a good eye, why were you covering it all the time? The Root ninjas were utterly confused. The Iwa ninjas also had stunned expressions, not understanding why Kurotsuchi had suddenly attacked. Couldn't we have talked properly? Wasn't it just a Kamizuru clan's bug user secret technique? Was it necessary?

Danzo roared from his side, his opening move his most proficient Wind Style jutsu. "Vacuum Wave!"

The not-so-spacious tomb chamber was enveloped by a hurricane. The Bikochu was instantly torn to shreds. Rotating wind blades like Kamaitachi cut the outermost Iwa ninja, who was acting as a guard, into minced meat. The remaining force did not decrease, slicing haphazardly towards Kurotsuchi and the other ninjas.
