A clash of ice and fire enveloped the space around Mu Can, where the Shadow Demon Beast was enduring such torment.
Flames scorched its body, and amidst the fire, it could feel an ice cold sensation piercing through, causing it even to shiver uncontrollably.
What made it even more anxious was that no matter how it moved, it couldn't escape the few meters around Mu Can, as if trapped by an invisible bowl, unable to unleash its once-proud speed.
And its defensive power simply couldn't withstand the flames. If it couldn't quickly escape, then death was the only outcome awaiting it.
The Guardian Beasts within the Heavenly Pillar possess a certain level of Spiritual Wisdom, aware of their predicament and duties, yet ultimately driven by instinct. Resistance to death is an innate instinct of all creatures; although aware it could resurrect after death, the Shadow Demon Beast too felt fear at the agony of dying.
