The performances of the two nations' armies were extreme opposites, completely contrary to each other, at least in the eyes of outsiders who didn't know the inside story.
The elves, indulged in the glory and brilliance of the past, are now so decayed, their military is lax, responses sluggish, morale low, and the commanders short-sighted and extremely foolish.
The highest decision-making level is even worse, attacking each other for their own interests with no awareness of the bigger picture, leading to continuous loss of cities and land for the Elf Court, almost allowing the Undead army to reach the capital, Serenfain.
