Peach opened her mouth and swallowed hard. "I didn't... Mila said it was going to help—"
"Help do what? Save Mum? She's in a psychiatric hospital. Or is it Dad? He's serving a lifetime! And Jaime?!" Allison grabbed her hair and screamed out into the dark night.
"You're so foolish, Peach, so foolish! I wish you were never born as my sister."
The words cut deep into Peach's heart. Her chest squeezed, and her lips pressed together tightly.
"Ally..." her voice trailed off.
Allison's brows moved up together in question. "You think you'll be accepted if you identify as one of them? They will never like you! You betrayed your family, and that's over. Nobody will accept you... no matter what. You'll always remain that snitch!"
