Sophia's Point Of View
I turned sharply, my heels digging into the earth as I started walking away from him, from everything I had sacrificed myself for.
But his broken voice, trembling yet stubborn, stopped me in my tracks.
"I loved Morana," Davian said behind me, his voice strained, desperate to sound unaffected, like some pathetic child clinging to a lie.
I laughed bitterly without turning, my shoulders shaking from the force of it.
He continued, almost like he was trying to convince himself, "You... you seduced me. You knew what you were doing. Don't act like you were some saint, Sophia."
I whirled around, fire blazing in my tear-soaked eyes.
"Seduce you?" I repeated, my voice shaking with disbelief.
"Is that the story you're telling yourself now, Davian? That I trapped you?"
He looked away, jaw clenched, arms folding over his chest, the universal sign of a man building a wall he didn't have the strength to stand behind.
