They finished brewing and cleaned up the lab. Severus cast a Tempus and saw it was nearly five o'clock. "Now remember to eat something nutritious tonight and do not fill up on just sweets," Severus said to Harry.
"I know, Dad," Harry replied grinning.
They went upstairs and Harry sat down at the Hufflepuff table while Severus seated himself at the head table. Lily came in a few minutes later, waved at Harry and made her way to the head table to sit next to Severus.
"How is Petunia doing?"
"Really good," Lily answered. "Vernon's lost so much weight I almost didn't recognize him. I think he and Petunia have fallen in love all over again. She said they're planning a two week trip to Majorca before Christmas. I think it's a second honeymoon actually."
"Good for them," he replied.
Dumbledore stood up, clapped his hands to get everybody's attention and said, "Happy Halloween and let us eat!"
Everybody began filling their plates with the food as soon as it appeared. There were a lot of sweets, but also nutritious foods were interspersed among them. The Great Hall was decorated with Hagrid's huge pumpkins, bats, scarecrows, and skeletons.
Harry took a baked chicken breast, green beans almandine and mashed potatoes. He also took a pumpkin pasty and two chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
"It's hard to believe I've been back a year already," Lily remarked as she poured herself some more Jasmine tea.
"I know; it went fast," Severus replied. He placed a slice of pumpkin bread on his plate and spread it with butter.
Harry finished eating and looked at his watch. "Well, it's been an hour so we better go and rescue Nev, Luna, and Ginny from Sir Nicholas' Death Day Party."
Draco, Greg, Dean and Theo followed him. Severus watched as they left and a few minutes later he saw Marcus Flint leave the Slytherin table to follow them. He volunteered to keep an eye on Harry as he being Severus' son was considered to be an honorary Slytherin.

Harry, Draco, Theo, Greg, and Dean arrived at the dungeon room where the 'party' was being held. Neville breathed a sigh of relief as he left the party. "I'm so glad to see you guys. Nobody would talk with us because we weren't dead and Sir Nicholas spent all his time arguing with that ghost who leads the headless hunt."
"Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore," Dean supplied. "I've heard Sir Nicholas complaining about him a lot of times."
"The food was awful!" Ginny exclaimed. "And I'm freezing too.
"I know having a bunch of ghost in one room together really causes the temperature to drop," Neville said.
"I spent some time talking to Myrtle, the ghost who haunts the second floor girl's bathroom," Luna said. "She's very unhappy and nothing I said cheered her up. She was in Ravenclaw about 50 years ago."
"How did she die?" Theo asked. "If she died in the hospital wing; why would she haunt the girl's bathroom?"
"She didn't say and I felt it was impolite to ask her," Luna answered.
Harry was talking to Draco when suddenly he heard the voice again. "Sssoo hungry …need blood …must kill …lots of blood …sssooo hungry!" He hurried ahead of the rest of his friends. "It's that voice again saying it wants to kill and it sounds as if it's going upstairs." Harry sprinted up the stairs, through the Entrance Hall and to the second with the rest of his friends and Marcus Flint following in pursuit. He stopped suddenly as the voice faded away. "It stopped," Harry said as Draco, Greg and Theo, Neville, Luna, Ginny and Marcus Flint caught up to him near the girl's bathroom
"The floor's flooded," Theo exclaimed lifting his foot up.
"I expect Myrtle was more upset than I thought," Luna said. "I've heard the older girls in Ravenclaw say that she always floods the bathroom when she's really upset."
"Look up there!" Harry said.
Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris, was hanging from a torch bracket by her tail. She wasn't moving and looked as if she was dead.
Ginny squealed and covered her eyes. "Is she dead?" She asked plaintively.
Marcus Flint stepped around Ginny and Luna. He was the only one tall enough to reach Mrs. Norris to check on her. He looked at her carefully. "There are no marks on her, but she's not breathing, but she is still warm." He turned to Theo and said, "Mr. Nott, go to the Great Hall and bring back Professor Snape," he ordered.
Theo took off at a run towards the staircase.
"Look at that!" Greg said pointing at the wall immediately above their heads.
Written on the wall in what looked like blood that had ran were the words: THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR BEWARE.*
