"Your Highness, why did you ask that Demon King's subordinate to cast the spell?" One of the Imperial Knights asked Jircniv, who was listening to the battle reports.

"Ahh, that. At first I planned to directly ask Ainz Ooal Gown to use his strongest spell, but when we entered the Chamber.." Jircniv shuddered mid-sentence as he unconsciously remembered that day.

"The mere aura from that being beside the skeleton gave me the feeling that he was the true Ruler of that Tomb. That abyssal feeling, as if your soul will be pulled in the dark void, with no way to return." Jircniv, taking a breath, then explained.

"Just imagine, that small dark elf girl could kill hundreds of our soldiers, how much could that unknown being whose origin or race we aren't even sure of kill? 3 thousand? 7 thousand?" Jircniv continued.

"Thousands?! Even the Great Thirteen Heroes couldn't achieve such a feat. Do you really think that unknown being could do it?"

The knight exclaimed, disbelief in his eyes as he struggled to hold the mere thought.

"Why not? We should not limit our expectations to the norm. No, with those abnormal beings, we should take the highest precautions.

If we want to show the world how much of a threat Ainz Ooal Gown and his Generals or Guardians are. This is the only opportunity."

Jircniv declared, his intensity made it clear of the dire situation.

"What about the Theocracy?" The knight then asked.

"I heard that they are embroiled in a civil war?" Jircniv asked pointedly at the retainer.

"Yes, they are currently in an apocalyptic crisis. From our informants who were able to send reports before the nation closed their borders, they spoke of a plague spreading within the nation." The retainer briefly explained.

"It seems no news will arrive until the lockdown is lifted." Jircniv guessed.

"Yes. But through our inner channels, we managed to receive a piece of news. The Black Scripture launched an attack on the Healer." The retainer then added.

"The Healer?" Unfamiliar with the title the Emperor and the ones present looked at the retainer who slowly recounted the information the spies gathered in pieces.

Meanwhile in the Plains.

The Re-estize soldiers and nobles stared at the magic circles in awe. Silence filled the atmosphere as they anticipated what will happen next.

Looking at the unresponsive soldiers, Hyortr sighed out.

"*Sigh* I guess we should begin now. Right Nimble-dono?" Hyortr spoke as he glanced at the human beside him.

"Ah? Yes yes. You can begin. Hyortr-dono."

Nimble, caught off guard stuttered his first syllable.

"But, I must warn you, after this spell, you won't have to do much work." Hyortr cryptically spoke as he looked at the horizon.

"Huh?" Unable to understand, Nimble looked at Hyortr but seeing the being silent chose to ignore it.

"Greetings, Humans from the Nation of Re-estize." Rather than beginning his spell, Hyortr chose to give a small introduction.

His voice travelled through the air which reached even the King Ramposa, seated behind the army lines.

"I am Hyortr. The Abyss Dendro Lector of the Tomb of Nazarick and Guardian of the Fourth floor. I must thank you for participating in this experiment. There is not much I would like to say since you have agreed to die. Your sacrifices will definitely go in vain."

After a chain of lines that left the humans stunned, he finished.

After a brief pause, processing the words of Hyortr, a sudden uproar began among the Re-estize soldiers. Soon, led by Boullope, 70000 soldiers broke off from the main army and charged towards the Imperial Camp.

"What nonsense was that?! Who does he think he is! Bastard!" One of the nobles inside the tent voiced the inner sentiment of all gathered. Even the King was slightly taken aback by the arrogance of the voice.

"Now, become nutrients for my spell!"

Hyortr finally began his spell as he chanted, his hands spread theatrically.

[Roots of the Abyssal Tree! Awaken and Devour!]

As the 70,000 army almost reached the 10 meter vicinity of the Empire's camp, a sudden tremor halted their advance. This tremor spread throughout the battlefield as all the humans lost their footing.

Suddenly, the earth cracked, opening deep fissures on the lands. From within this large caverns, 3 to 4 meter thick roots emerged growing to a height of 15 meters. These roots began spreading from Hyortr in a Semi circle-ral shape, engulfing, crushing, entrapping or simply piercing the humans.

In mere seconds of the spell being used, all the seventy thousand humans were killed, simply because they either got sucked into the deep and bottom less caverns or were impaled by the growing roots.

"Impossible! Seventy thousand?!" Nimble unconsciously exclaimed in fear. The sight of these towering roots almost instantly killing the soldiers scared him tremendously, his armour clanking due to his uncontrollable shivering.

"You remember my words right Nimble-dono? After I use my spell, you won't have to do any work." Hyortr spoke, a hint of mocking in his tone.

"What?"

"I have merely summoned the Roots of the Abyss just now. Unlike ordinary roots, these Abyssal Roots are alive." Hyortr explained.

Perhaps it was under sudden shock of the overwhelming massacre of the seventy thousand humans that the remaining hundred seventy thousand stood rooted on their positions. But it didn't remain the same for long.

The seventy thousand dead humans were quickly surrounded by thorned veins forming cocoons, like spiders'. The roots on the other hand began to move, they started spreading towards the humans at an alarming rate.

Soon, the roots reached the humans as the seemingly alive roots griped them, encasing more in cocoons. This moment sparked a mass hysteria erupted. Prompting them to flee.

"Hold!! Hold! If you want to live then raise your Spears!" Such orders reached the deaf as even these generals were killed by the towering fifteen meter high roots.

-----

"Monster..." Nimble muttered as he watched the massacre. The roots, having a radius of 3 to 4 meters grew in omnipresent directions, from which smaller vines sprouted which griped the humans and formed cocoons.

Their fate? Being the nutrients for an ominous end.

What further unnerved him was the purple veins like cracks on these Roots which pulsed periodically as if they were beating...like a heart.

"I must apologise, Nimble-dono, even though I did warn you. With this, your soldiers might just become collateral damage if they entered the fray. So let me take over your part of the deal too." Hyortr said as he floated upwards.

"What!? Are you not done yet?! Are you a Demon?" Nimble exclaimed in shock. Although the ones dying were the opposing army, he felt pity for those poor souls.

No he was scared, because of the sheer destruction a mere spell caused. Within a minute of it being casted, Ninty five thousand had already died, with more adding on it rapidly.

"Don't be mistaken, for even demons fear me. For I am an Abyssal Lector." Hyortr looked down on Nimble with a cruel gaze which made the poor human stumble back.

"Mare, stand here and watch over okay." Hyortr then glanced at Mare.

"O-okay, Hyortr Onii- chan." Mare cutely replied.

"Now then, let's meet our target." Thinking this, Hyortr flew towards Gazef's position.

-----

"What an exemplary method of clearing the filthy! I must discuss with Hyortr after he returns." Demiurge gleefully spoke as he pushed his glasses.

Watching Hyortr easily kill such a large number of insects with a single spell filled him with great joy. Not only him, Albedo, Shalltear and the rest of the guardians watching Hyortr's performance in the Katze Plain, expressed a range of satisfaction.

'So there was no Players huh?' Ainz on the other hand was in deep thought. He completely tuned out the comments of the guardians as he looked at the massacre.

'Maybe with my Subh Nigurrath, I might have made a new record.' His thoughts trailed to the super tier spell he had. But watching the pulsing veins on the roots and the cocoon intrigued him.

'According to the spell's description. These roots are the Yggdrasil Roots that were tainted by the Abyss. After a certain amount of sacrifices were made, the caster could summon level 70 Eldritch plant horrors.' Ainz recalled the application of Abyssal Roots.

"It is somewhat similar to the Dark Fertility." He compared. But that's where the similarity ends.

While the dark youngs will stay for a limited amount of time. These plant horrors will stay indefinitely, untill their summoning is revoked or killed. And those roots, they will keep growing unless the caster stops it.

It was a constant cycle. The roots grows, more sacrifices are gathered, more horrors are borne. An infinitly perpetual level 70 horror summoner.

"No, there is a drawback, after a certain time limit, the requirements are exponentially increased with the growth of the roots taking MP after that limit is crossed." Ainz mused as he felt a wave of disappointment wash over him.

How great it would be if this spell was a perpetually monster producing factory?
