Ethan quickly closed in on the Lava Monarch—just as the creature stomped the ground again. The earth cracked apart, and jets of fire surged upward, covering a ten-meter radius. Thankfully, Elena was standing far enough back; if she'd been any closer, she would've been instantly incinerated.
Ethan weaved left and right, trying to dodge the pillars of flame—but they were too dense, erupting without warning. One hit caught him full-on, tearing off over 25,000 HP in an instant. His health plunged by more than half, forcing him to Blink out of the inferno's range.
The flames lasted a full ten seconds before dying down. By then, the Lava Monarch had already charged up to Ethan, bringing both massive claws down in a crushing blow.
