Just as the group turned to flee, they suddenly saw a stunning woman dressed in black standing behind them, her smile hovering somewhere between amusement and menace.
The leader's heart skipped a beat. "When did she get here?"
He didn't know why, but that smile sent a chill down his spine. Years of experience kicked in—his instincts screamed danger. This woman was lethal.
"Take her down—together!" the leader barked, drawing his dagger and lunging toward her. The others followed suit without hesitation.
The woman merely shook her head and flicked her hand. Several streaks of black light shot out, piercing into each of their bodies. A moment later, all eight of them, still mid-charge, shattered into fragments and vanished.
"Since you're already here, you might as well stay. Otherwise, the trouble will never end," she murmured to herself.
