Ethan's face twitched with discomfort. After all, this wasn't a game—real, living people had just vanished before his eyes. Anyone would find that hard to accept. But Ethan quickly composed himself. They had come all the way to his home to capture him—was he supposed to let them go?
He turned sharply to glare at Sylvia and finally asked the question he had been holding back for a long time: "Why are you here?"
"Didn't I already tell you? We have a contract. Wherever you are, I can be there too," Sylvia replied with a playful tone.
"But... that was just a game!"
"You've been doubting it yourself, haven't you? Then why are you still insisting it's just a game?" Sylvia shrugged.
"Alright, take your time figuring it out. I really don't like the vibe here—I'm heading back." With that, Sylvia vanished from sight.
