After they finished chatting with them and clearing the air a bit, Kiros and Nova hurried back to work, since they did not want to seem suspicious and get knocked off on the first day. They wanted more intel, and in order for that to happen, they needed to be more alert.
They needed to stay on track and not get swayed even when they were tempted to. It was going to be a good amount of waiting, and both of them knew that, but at the time they only had a few limited options, and that was one of them.
The rest of the afternoon unfolded beneath an overcast sky. The port never stopped moving; sails flapped overhead, dockworkers bellowed instructions, and crates clattered over damp planks. Kiros and Nova separated themselves from the others, taking in order to focus on their second task, which was to assist while observing their surroundings.
