The moment I am able to recognize anything around me
I saw the world as it really was an unreasonable and unfair environment where the strength and wits is favored by life
Wars regularly occur around the world because of consequential reasons like territories and resources down to a simple as a petty disapprovement of each country's leaders.
I lived my childhood alone in a refugee camp where crime and poverty grew.
I never knew my father but the last memory I have of my mother is her scurrying away from me in a crowd of people when the evacuation of our town is happening.
I kept calling her out but she did not turn around as she just kept on going.
I've been lost in the crowd not knowing where we are being taken to.
Not knowing if my mother abandoned me I kept looking at her in the crowd
2 days passed and my mother still did not appear
Understanding that my mother is not going to find me as she already abandoned me
I'm quick to understand how precarious my situation is.
Instructed to settle in a forest devoid of infrastructure we are tasked by the soldiers to construct our own shelter.
Hand out of food decreased as days passed
desperate refugees began to steal and kill each other for their food
I learned in a harsh way that as a child is still powerless compared to a full grown adult as I been beaten for my hand out
Unable to consume food for a couple of days only relying on the stream water to fill my stomach
I cried in defeat as I do not know what to do
Calling my mother who already abandoned me in my head to help me
Desperate to not die in starvation
I've taken my hand out and run towards the source of the stream to be able to escape to men that keep taking it.
I was able to locate a river
There I follow the river downstream
I was able to gather berries and nuts that keeps me going
Until I reach a ruined city and is able to take shelter
Still at nighttime I was awakened by explosions close to me
I was able to take cover on the rubles of the buildings but it turned out to be a mistake as I was buried underground when a missile hit the ground around me.
unable to move and barely able to breathe I began to lose hope to live
I cried until my eyes dried up trying to not hope of someone rescuing me as it will prolong my suffering further
But I cannot help but to hope that someone is out there that will help
No matter how hard my life has been I always wanted to live no matter what suffering I have to face.
A day passed and the bombing stopped
Still cannot move and my throat is starting to parched
contemplating on how I will be able to kill myself to end this suffering
I heard the crunches of pieces of concrete above me
That time is where my life changes dramatically as I choose to cling to a hope of living
I called for help and help actually came
Laid in my eyes when the light came to it
Captain Clara mertl
She has brunette hair and a sternly beautiful face that stands out in the battlefield
"MEDIC! There's someone trapped here!"
That day a person actually cared that I was actually alive
Captain Clara took me to their military camp
"You're lucky the higher up conducted a scouting mission to the bombed site on the preparation of building a fort"
Said the medic
Clara has taken care of my injury down to my basic needs
Days passed as my injuries were healed, I already expected that this will be temporary as they will eventually send me again to a refugee camp
But beyond my expectations the captain insisted on staying here when I brought up the subject.
"Don't you worry now kid, I know the situation in refugee camps, probably the same thing why you choose to run from it"
The captain looked at me with a concerned look
*Sigh*
"Our camp really needs every hand it can find right now I also heard from the higher ups that they will start the recruitment of refugees anyway"
Now that the captain laid out the detail I can now release a breath of relief for my situation right now
"Plus I Really cannot abandon a kid alone in that camp "
She looked at me and smiled awkwardly while scratching her head
The person who always always has a stern look now looks cutely embarrassed
I almost laughed but I forced myself to just smile
On that day I respected captain Clara more than everyone
I was assigned the role of assistant for everyone on the camp on doing tasks like laundry down to janitorial duty
But there is a time where Clara or one of her subordinate personnel train me to handle a handgun
Being our camp is in the frontline it is better to know how to protect oneself
I build myself up so that I can actually be qualified to be on ranks on captain Clara's squad
A 2 years went by on being part of rear guard the squad were tasked on a defensive trenches
I was given a private position as a carrier for the machine gun ammunition
The captain is concerned for me joining on their ranks but I reassured her that it is my desire to join
On our first day on the trenches we are rained with bullets by the enemy attempting to capture our line of defense
But with captain Clara quick command we are able to position ourselves effectively and easily repel the enemy's charge
It's also the day I first killed a man and witnessed first hand the horrors of wars
Bullet riddled bodies, piles of human organs, mangled limbs I saw it all
Months went by the captains concern grew and regularly reassured me of my well being
I really appreciate her gestures towards me but to choose between here and the refuge camps
I would rather die holding a weapon than die starving alone
On the time I spent on combat I bonded with the squad members and learned the past of captain Clara
"I didn't expect the captain to be just a regular teacher in your home town"
"Well kid, War on this scale eventually the soldiers will run out and the country will start conscripting citizens"
The war is continuing for about 5 years now and it's casualties are reaching in tens of millions
"There are rumor's that the offensive army has already taken the key territories on the enemy lands"
I heard from one of the tents of the telecommunications
"I do hope so, I'm getting sick of sitting around in these trenches looking like wet chicks hahahaha"
The captain complained jokingly but I can tell by the way she says it she is probably the most frustrated person in our squad right now
She regularly talks about her daughter who she left behind
With the conscription of her husband and most of her hometown men unable to return
unable to meet the quota of conscripts they decided recruiting even the young men
To combat this her hometown widows and mothers decided to voluntarily join the military to not further decline their towns future
She is one of the volunteers to fill the numbers
The attack of the enemy gradually became less as they lost soldiers
More so now that the offensive army continues to take territories probably unable to supply their own troops
The defensive troops Launched a decisive attack to drive back all the enemy within their territory
With them now having limited supply they are unable to counter the seemingly endless barrage of drone strikes
Which in term is able to make the advancements of the troops in their trenches
Within a week then the enemy has no choice but to retreat
A couple of weeks passed just sitting and moving supplies around the defensive trenches
A aircraft spread a leaflet of the enemy surrender
Our entire camp burst to a variety of emotions some fired their firearms to the air, others cried and screamed out of joy in the end they are celebrating
I for one have complicated emotions about the war ending
Looking at my comrade celebrating, drinking and creating ruckus
I should happily be able to celebrate with them but I am now realising my situation right now
'what am I to do now'
I spend my days fighting and not knowing anything outside of it only hearing the before lives of my comrades
Thinking about it, I can only stare at the captain as she down a bottle of alcohol celebrating our victory
The captain noticed my gaze and
"Hic! hehehe why the long face now kid"
*Power output stabilized initiate function reboots*

I returned to my senses as I am looking at the dumbfounded face of the woman I saved
""I-I am sorry for staring at you ma'am""
"No no no it's okay"
The woman responded
"You don't have to apologise"
What happened to me is my brain has damage or something
"Bot your full body scan is complete right?, give me the diagnostic of my nervous system"
*The diagnostic shows no severe implications only noticeable sudden nerve firing that which stress causes*
"I have prolonged hallucinations, can the stress produce such a symptom?"
*Possible but quite far from my data condition of said symptom*
The mother and child now staring again caught my attention
'dammit i kept forgetting about them is there really nothing wrong about my brain'
""First of all citizens may I get your names as I am unable to get it prior to our early predicament""
"Of course, I am Lesia barns this my daughter Yuri barns"
They seem to be a descendant from east Asians with a western feature
I can see a faint image of Captain Clara on Lesia barns
Probably what triggers my hallucinations
""Nice to know your names""
They seem to be calm down now maybe it is time to gather some information
""Ma'am Lesia can you give an answer to my questions""
Lesia simply nodded
""Where is this place?""
The last time I saw the terrain of the battlefield is in marshes now I'm looking at the terrain covered in trees
"We-We are in the far Eastern of the Ortodith kingdom it is an unmarked part of its territory"
*Report no such place on my latest geolocation data*
As she said it she seems to want to say something with her uneased face and her gripping her own arm
""Ma'am Lesia if you have something to tell me you should probably say it now""
I don't actually know the whole situation but a mother and daughter desperately running and being targeted by the Echthroi without the father really saying limited things.
Lesia suddenly kneeled and even put her head on the ground
"I BEG YOU!"
She shouted loudly while her daughter was noticeably distraught behind her
"p-p-please save my people"
I quickly got up and headed to the hole I dug up
Lesia bewildered by my sudden action
""Ma'am Lesia say where the direction your people are""
"Um? Yes, due west from here the clearing of trees will be noticeable even if in distance"
As she said it I started digging for my ballistic chamber
"There it is, bot can the ballistics still be alive"
*Report Due to the optimal visuals modules I cannot fully scan the ballistics but looking at its surface conditions not using them is recommended*
"Tsk, what did I expect"
My integrated plasma cannons and my other energy base weaponry cannot be used
My rail gun rifle is nowhere to be found
With limited weaponry frontal melee attacks are risky
More so now that there are no more intelligence operations to feed the Echthroi info
But the desperation from lesia's voice
I really cannot waste time thinking about reducing risk now
""You two will have to find cover in close proximity on your own""
"Wait are you going to fight them without weapons"
Lesia asked me out of concern
""Hahahaha, Ma'am Lesia you do realize that I'm like 35 meters tall right""
Lesia seems embarrassed because of my response
But I appreciate her concern
I quickly run to the west creating a gust of wind behind
"Well if I can't quickly kill them in the distance I just have caught them in surprise and crush them to death"
