Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: Six Paths Level – Kakuzu!

Kisame's chakra reserves were roughly equivalent to three Seven-Tails. In numerical terms, that would be around thirty to forty thousand units. If he fused with Samehada, his strength would undoubtedly rise to an even higher level. As for Nagato, his current chakra levels were already considerable. In another ten years, when he reached his peak, it was estimated that his chakra would be around one hundred thousand.

"So you're saying it would take ten Seven-Tails to match Nagato?" Ni asked.

"In theory, yes." Tsunade shrugged helplessly.

"That's terrifying… Those are tailed beasts we're talking about," Heisei Rokuno muttered in awe.

For most people, just hearing the name of a tailed beast was enough to strike fear into their hearts. Yet these people here were casually using them as a unit of measurement. Were they all monsters?

"Everyone, don't put too much pressure on yourselves. The amount of chakra someone has doesn't necessarily determine their combat power. It's just a rough benchmark," Hiruko said as he walked over and patted Hidan on the shoulder. "Take this devoted follower of Jashin, for example. His chakra reserves aren't anywhere near as monstrous as a tailed beast's, yet his immortality alone makes him incredibly formidable, wouldn't you say?"

At Hiruko's words, Kisame cracked his neck and gave a strange smile.

"That's true. Chakra is just one aspect of strength."

As someone who had an enormous amount of chakra himself, he had the authority to say so. Each tailed beast's chakra varied, but they all possessed enormous reserves—far beyond ninety-nine percent of the ninja world. However, raw chakra alone wasn't what made them dominant.

For example, the current Fourth Hokage, Hatake Sakumo, didn't have a particularly large chakra pool, yet given enough time, he could still cut down many tailed beasts. Similarly, Deidara in the future wouldn't have unlimited chakra, but his explosive techniques had immense power and wide-reaching effects, making him extremely effective against tailed beasts.

"In the end, these numbers serve as a reference, but they don't reflect real combat ability. Just take a look and don't take them too seriously," Tsunade concluded, summarizing the discussion.

Her words eased Hidan's awkward expression.

"Haha! See? These numbers don't mean anything. As Jashin-sama's most devoted follower, I don't even need chakra to completely dominate you guys! Hahaha!"

Everyone merely glanced at Hidan before ignoring him. He had been brainwashed by his so-called god to the point of stupidity. There was no point in engaging.

"But… what about Kakuzu's numbers?" Ni suddenly asked, drawing everyone's attention.

Until now, they had been too focused on the data charts to pay close attention to the specific numbers. When they looked closely, their eyes widened in disbelief.

The straight line representing chakra levels showed that the Seven-Tails was positioned near the bottom. But at the peak of the graph, Kakuzu's chakra level was displayed—

568,800.

"What the hell?!"

"This has to be fake!"

"Your computer must be broken!"

Hidan and Kisame both found the number incomprehensible. It was simply beyond their understanding!

Tsunade cleared her throat but hesitated to speak. In the end, she simply turned her back to the group and silently continued working on the computer.

"As one of the few who survived that era, let me put it this way—I wasn't there for the legendary battle at the Valley of the End, but I've heard plenty of accounts. I've also personally witnessed the lingering effects of that battle's impact on the terrain," Heisei Rokuno said solemnly.

At over fifty years old, he might not be stronger than young elites like Kisame and Nagato, but his experience was indisputable.

"If anyone doubts these numbers, you can always challenge Kakuzu once he wakes up. I'd be happy to accept on his behalf," Ni said, crossing her arms and smiling confidently.

The laboratory fell into complete silence.

A long pause followed.

Finally, Hidan nudged Kisame with his elbow.

"Hey, you have tons of chakra. Why don't you give it a shot?"

Kisame shot Hidan a sideways glance, still grinning, but his eyes carried a dangerous glint, as if he were ready to devour someone.

"Why don't you go instead? You could even call upon your precious Jashin and let me see what kind of god he really is."

The two bickered for a while before their gazes landed on Nagato.

Nagato twitched slightly, then forced an awkward smile.

"No thanks. I've already fought Kakuzu before. I'll leave this opportunity to you two."

The image of that towering Buddha statue was still fresh in Nagato's mind. Even with his Rinnegan, he couldn't fully comprehend the divine presence of that entity. It was as if it wielded power beyond this world.

Kakuzu's chakra measurement had left everyone in stunned silence.

...

Three days later, heated arguments once again erupted in the laboratory.

"Hiruko, what the hell is going on? Right now, all nine tailed beasts' chakra inside Kakuzu's body should have formed a closed circuit. But why is your machine flickering like this? Don't mess this up now!"

Tsunade tapped away at the keyboard, frowning as she stared at the flickering screen.

"I… Tsunade, don't accuse me like that! Yes, I've been the one calibrating the machine, but you saw it before I started—it was working fine. There was no sign of malfunction. I have no idea what's happening now!"

No matter how much Hiruko tried to explain, the machine was already showing signs of strain. Just as Tsunade was about to continue arguing with him, Sai spoke up, interrupting the two.

"Could it be that the machine's data can't withstand Kakuzu-sama's numbers?"

Tsunade and Hiruko both turned to look at Sai.

A moment later, Hiruko hesitated in front of a button, thinking it over before finally pressing it. The machine's sensitivity was instantly adjusted to its highest level.

In the blink of an eye, Kakuzu's chakra levels skyrocketed.

700,000... 800,000... 900,000... 950,000... 970,000... 980,000... 1,000,000... 1,010,000... 1,020,000...

Just as the numbers reached this critical stage, a loud bang erupted from the back of the machine. Thick white smoke billowed out.

"Start the backup power immediately! We can't afford to lose the data!" Tsunade shouted.

Hiruko quickly complied, activating the backup system. The numbers continued climbing as the machine's temperature steadily rose.

The digits on the monitor kept increasing until they reached 1,200,000.

Boom!!

"Damn it! What the hell happened?! The machine just exploded!"

Tsunade clenched her teeth, completely unprepared for this outcome. Hiruko, still holding onto the power cables, was momentarily dumbfounded.

"H-How is this possible...? I accounted for the maximum possible output and raised the limit significantly—why did this still happen?"

Everyone stood in stunned silence at his words, at a loss for what to do next.

Tsunade was the first to snap back to reality. She walked over and patted Hiruko on the shoulder.

"Don't just stand there. The data terminal is still intact. We'll have to calculate manually."

"Understood!"

...

A week later.

Kakuzu slowly opened his eyes.

However, the moment he did, everyone froze.

At the center of his forehead, a thin crack appeared. It gradually widened to both sides until it fully opened—forming an eye socket.

As for what kind of eye it held...

Everyone turned in unison to look at Nagato.

Nagato's heart tightened. He suddenly felt nervous.

"N-No, it's different! Look closely—Kakuzu-sama's eye is completely different from my Rinnegan!"

He pointed to his own eyes and then to Kakuzu's.

Following his gaze, they quickly noticed the distinctions.

Nagato's Rinnegan had a pale base with faint bluish hues, marked by concentric ripple patterns.

But Kakuzu's eye was different. Its primary color was a deep, blood-red—like the crimson glow of a full moon.

The group exchanged looks, unsure of what to conclude.

Then, Kakuzu opened his original pair of eyes as well.

Only this time, they were no longer their usual dark green. Instead, they had turned white—identical to the Byakugan of the Hyuga Clan.

"So... this is the power of the Six Paths..."

He clenched his fist, testing the new strength coursing through his body.

How should he describe it? It still felt unfamiliar.

"So this is the nature of Yin-Yang Release?"

A small, dark sphere began forming in the palm of his hand.

This should be a Truth-Seeking Orb, a product of the fusion of Yin and Yang chakra.

...

"Nagato."

"Kakuzu-sama, what are your orders?"

"Do you remember what I spoke to you about before?"

"Of course, Kakuzu-sama. I haven't forgotten. I've thoroughly analyzed the Six Paths' power I currently wield. I believe you'll understand everything once you read my notes."

Nagato had put a lot of effort into developing his Rinnegan's abilities, pushing them to their absolute limits.

Unfortunately, those eyes were ultimately Uchiha Madara's.

A non-Uchiha who used the Sharingan would experience constant chakra depletion.

And the Rinnegan, being an evolved form of the Sharingan, consumed an even greater amount. If not for his Uzumaki bloodline, Nagato likely would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.

Kakuzu, however, was different.

He had absorbed the chakra of all nine Tailed Beasts, forming a Ten-Tails power within himself.

It was hard to say exactly how strong this "Mini Ten-Tails" was, but one thing was certain—this Rinnegan was Kakuzu's own.

There would be no chakra rejection, no side effects.

Which meant Kakuzu's potential far surpassed the heights Pain had once reached.

But since he was only beginning to grasp the Rinnegan, it was necessary to reference Nagato's experiences.

"Kakuzu-sama, I'll return to my room and retrieve my notes for you now."

Nagato was about to leave when Kakuzu suddenly raised a hand.

"No, wait."

Nagato stopped and turned back, puzzled.

"What is it, Kakuzu-sama?"

Kakuzu's gaze drifted toward a certain direction.

"Before that... I need to deal with a rat hiding in the shadows."

The next instant, Kakuzu vanished.

A fierce gust of wind roared past, but this time, he didn't use the standard ninja sprint.

His body remained perfectly parallel to the ground, moving at an extreme speed.

"So this is the power of Yang Release... I might not be fully accustomed to Yin-Yang Release yet, but eliminating a certain someone shouldn't be a problem."

The moment Kakuzu's words fell, he had already stopped high in the air, gazing down at the figure on the ground below.

The man on the ground, his lone exposed Sharingan swirling, was visibly shaken by Kakuzu's sudden appearance.

"Who are you?!" the man called out.

From above, Kakuzu responded with a question of his own.

"You can call me…" The masked man forced himself to remain calm, raising his left hand as if introducing himself. "Uchiha Madara."

But the moment the words left his mouth, he regretted them. A cold sweat ran down his back.

'Kakuzu… this guy… he actually made me break a sweat!'

Kakuzu didn't react to the name. He simply floated in the air, watching the masked man's performance in silence. An awkward tension filled the space between them.

"Hah… you're a troublesome one, aren't you…" The masked man let out a dry chuckle. In his moment of panic, he had blurted out his usual deception. But now that he had time to think, wasn't it ridiculous to claim the name Uchiha Madara in front of someone like Kakuzu?

"Well then, until we meet again. I'm sure our next encounter will be… interesting."

His body began to fade, space distorting as his form was sucked into his right eye.

...

"Did I say you could leave?"

Kakuzu's heavy voice made the masked man's face twitch beneath his disguise.

This was the first time since Uchiha Madara that someone had made him feel so uncertain. But he quickly steadied himself, subtly wiping the sweat from his palm.

"Hmph. Even if I'm just a shell of my former self right now, don't get too ahead of yourself. Whether I leave or not… isn't up to you."

"Heh. A brat from the Uchiha clan dares to be this arrogant? Not bad."

A crimson Rinnegan glowed faintly on Kakuzu's forehead as he slowly raised his right fist.

"You don't have real power, yet you think you can achieve your goals through other means? Isn't that laughable?"

The masked man chuckled. In the face of his space-time jutsu, no one could touch him.

"Kakuzu, if you're so confident… why don't you show me what true power looks like?"

"Catch this, then!"

Since Obito had asked, Kakuzu was more than happy to oblige.

With a sudden downward swing of his fist, an enormous force surged from Kakuzu's body, hurtling toward the masked man below.

The sheer size of the attack was staggering—just this single punch carried the force of three fully loaded trucks.

The Sharingan in the masked man's eye trembled, a flicker of unwillingness flashing across it.

"Useless!" he roared.

As his voice rang out, the devastating punch came crashing down.
