Enzo's POV
The air in the hospital felt heavier today stale, thick with an unspoken tension that clung to the walls and hung low like fog. As I walked down the hallway toward the nurses' station, I noticed the shift immediately. Conversations hushed the moment I approached. Agatha, Marcie, and Tasha
They wouldn't even look at me.
It wasn't subtle. Marcie pretended to fumble with a chart she'd already flipped through twice. Tasha suddenly had her eyes glued to her tablet, scrolling nothing. And Agatha… her mouth tightened the moment I stepped in.
Still, I tried, I know they don't like me but I have to know why they were acting like I was some criminal.
"Nurse Agatha, is—"
She didn't even let me finish. Just walked right past me like I wasn't there. Her silence hit harder than a slap.
