Chapter Thirty-One: The Heat Between Them
Audrey was growing comfortable in Caleb's world—dangerous, opulent, intoxicating.
It started with the little touches. A brush of hands when he passed her something. His fingers lingering at the small of her back. Their glances growing longer, heavier.
One night in his study, the air buzzed with unspoken words.
"You stare at me like I'm a secret," she said softly.
Caleb stepped closer. "You are a secret. One I never stopped looking for."
Her heart slammed in her chest. And when he kissed her—slow, claiming—it was like everything she forgot came rushing back through her veins.
She didn't know where this was going.
But she wasn't afraid.

Chapter Thirty-Two: Close Watch
Mia felt eyes on her.
Always.
She glanced over her shoulder. Caleb's right-hand man—Luca—was never far.
Dark, silent, and unreadable, he followed her like a shadow. Only now... her heart betrayed her.
Every glance he gave her felt like fire and judgment all at once.
"You're watching me," she snapped once, late at night.
"I'm protecting the people you could hurt," he said coolly.
But his gaze lingered.
And when she stumbled in the hallway one evening, it was his arms that caught her.
Mia didn't know if he was her enemy.
Or the only man who truly saw her.
