The room was wasn't warm, but somehow Aurora felt like she was under the sweltering summer sun, her body scorched from the heat. It was awfully quite, yet Aurora could hear the deafening sound of her blood rushing to her ears, and the erratic way her heart was beating. Or was it his?
Was it the heart of the scorching sun in front of her whose heart beat was as loud as drums? She could not tell. All she knew was her mind was slowly turning foggy, her judgement becoming cloudy and her gut instincts getting the best of her.
All she could think about was the two words Tesarius said to her, over and over in her head.
Kiss me.
He just said it once, but it stuck to her head like a stain, or a spell, binding her to a trance. So much, that her eyes saw nothing but his own, golden ones embracing the silver of his. He only asked once, and like a fool, she almost did it.
She almost kissed Tesarius like he wanted her to. almost proved him right.
Until she did not.
