Noah's POV
Despite my lie, Logan still insisted that, if I changed my mind, he'd go with me.
'I don't know or trust this asshole, there's no way I'm leaving you alone with him,' he'd said without the knowledge that he did know and didn't trust the asshole.
'Anything could happen in a club like that. It's dangerous to go alone,' he'd pointed out, not knowing that the only danger would be him once he found Nathaniel Aldridge there.
'I just want to be there for you… in case you need me.'
The meaning of that one was clear; you're precious to me and I'd be less worried if I went with you.
So, my 'I don't know' in the kitchen turns into 'I think I'll go later when we're cuddled together in bed and Logan is halfway to sleep.
"Yeah?" He mumbles sleepily.
"Mhmm," I murmur in return, snuggling closer into his chest. His heartbeat is slow and steady, soothing. "Just promise me you won't hate me after."
