During the battle, Blake briefly explained his plan to Cassie.
Looking closely, one would discover some of the goblins weren't dead, just decapitated to the point they couldn't cause any trouble.
Though his actions might seem harsh, he had valid reasons. In this cruel world, age no longer mattered: monsters attacked anyone, regardless of age.
"Alright, they can't harm you now," Blake whispered to Cassie as he positioned her in front of a subdued goblin. He handed her the dagger he had first obtained in the tower and nodded reassuringly as she stared at him.
"Cassie, remember what I said? This is crucial. You must learn to defend yourself when I'm not around. Your abilities are impressive, and I'm confident you'll unlock a powerful class." Blake held her trembling hands, guiding the dagger to deliver the final blow.
The blade sliced through the goblin's neck, and it vanished, leaving behind a yellow orb which entered her body and a skill scroll. Look, you've got a skill scroll. Blake smiled, handing it to her. "This is yours." With his hands on hers, they read through the skill scroll's description together.

"That's great!"
An excited glint seemed to appear in Cassie dull grey eyes but disappear soon after.
Blake, noticing this, let out a silent sigh. 'Just what did you go through?'
"Come on. Put it on." He said with an excited tone, causing Cassie to smile.
The armour soon appeared on her body quickly adjusting to her size. It was a green armour with lines of cream along the edges. The armour fit to her skin, giving her a somewhat resonant look.
Blake nodded in satisfaction. Even he didn't get an armour with the number of beasts he had faced.
"C'mon, let's finish it up." The next was easier. Closing her eyes, Cassie was able to deal the last blow to the next goblin. The third went smoothly, and just like that, she finished the last of the goblins.
"Alright, let's head back."
Arriving at the village. They were cheered by the villagers and even praised by the village chief, who gave him a house to stay. One extremely close to his.
During his stay, Blake discovered the villagers were just ordinary humans unable to make use of mana—meaning they didn't have the system window.
Blake knew they were nothing but NPC. They were just playing their part in the ordeal. Or so he thought.
With the house, Blake was able to absorb the mana stones he had but was still unable to level up. With a sigh, he watched as Cassie carefully absorbed the yellow stones before her.
Once again, she had levelled up twice, bringing her level to level 4. Her stat had gone up also, and her appearance was getting better. The once skinny and gaunt girl was fading away.
Blake decided to spend the night before completing the quest the next day. He found the whole ordeal a bit boring. He felt nothing posed a threat to him and won't be able to increase his combat skill.
Lying on the bed, his eyes were fixed on the words floating before him.
[Undead Summon: 1/3 slots]
'Why? Why was there no description about this?' His class was a strange one indeed. One thing he had come to know was that the strange hooded figure was the one taking up one of the slots.
How would he be able to feel up the other slots? That was a question for another day. Right now, he needed to rest. The next day was going to be an exhausting one.

"Watch your back. Don't let them surround you. Do you need help?"
"No, I... I can take them by myself!"
Two figures could be seen under the filtering lights from the huge branches over them. One sat atop a tree branch while the other, the little of the two, was surrounded by three green figures.
Normally, the figures were Blake and Cassie.
Cassie battled the three goblins wielding a staff. Swinging the staff she was holding, she was able to strike one of the goblins on its head. Soon after, it dissolved into streams of light, leaving a yellow orb behind.
With fluid movements, she avoided the crude dagger of one and then struck with the dagger in her other hand. The third one was quickly dealt with after that.

Blake couldn't help but smile seeing her deal with the goblins herself. During the few hours, she had gone through a slight change, and slowly, he felt she was opening up.
This was the third goblin camp they had cleared. With her able to level up twice, he was confident to let her battle the goblins on her own now. Though, he carefully selected them. Those within the range of level one to three he left for her, the others he dealt with instantly.
Even with all the killing he had yet to level up.
"Alright. Let's head to the last one." Following the narrow paths filled with twigs and leaves. Blake soon caught sight of the little settlement few metres away.
This one was a bit large this time around with a large hut at the center.
Just like before, Blake broke through with brute force, Cassie following behind this time around. Clearing most of the goblins, he left a few and then with a smile said to her: "Have fun. I'll be back."
Looking at the hut at the centre, he could make out three figures coming out. The one at the center had a staff with a round ball at the end. With face lit with fury, it's gaze landed on the intruder and instantly his bodyguards were charging towards Blake.
Raising his hand, Blake conjured two blue balls on his fingertips which streaked forward heading towards the head of the two large goblins. The balls exploded on impact, the headless figured turning into motes of yellow light.
The goblin leader with wide eyes raised his staff high and a fireball was beginning to form.
Pathetic. Blake muttered stretching his hand once more. Erupting from one of his fingertips was a blue ball which slammed into the goblin leader, exploding and killing it in one go.
"A level 6 Mortal rank monster, huh? That was easy." He couldn't help but notice the mana circulation skill had grown stronger with him being able to form the ball faster and it being more stable. Also, he noticed the ball had a tinge of black in it which was quite different to the usual.
Shrugging, he stared at Cassie and was just at the right time to see her slay the last of the goblins. "Good. She's getting better. Probably due to that skill of hers."

"Where do we go now?" Blake muttered to himself. He silently cursed himself for not paying much attention to the information about the towers.
'What I do know is that for the floor to be cleared the boss needs to be defeated. I have to be the one to defeat the boss!'
