Chapter 167 - Source Origin(17)

Cades didn't even know how to describe this thing.

He didn't know where to start, simply losing himself in the silver mirrors that replaced where the eyes were supposed to be in a kind of ehetrian face that resembled his own, long black hair, filthy and besmirched with blood from countless enemies, but in this being's case most likely just a copy of how he looked not too long ago before he had entered this place and his hair had become fixed and fluffy, one of the only good things he could think of after entering this place.

The face, his face, was lifeless, it had an open mouth with pearl-white, perfect, teeth, even better than his own that had small imperfections, just like everyone else's teeth and mouth's had small imperfections, small things they didn't like about themselves, but other than that, the face, his face, or what was supposed to be his face, looked simple, just like his own, the proportions, it seemed, were slightly off from the original though, or perhaps he had just forgotten his own face after not truly seeing it in a few days, only remembering it from the other him that had been ripped apart, probably going through something similar as he was going now, perhaps even something worse.

His face, or whatever it was now, he didn't even really acknowledge that it was a face at all, was stuck in an perpetual, eerie smile that made him wish the flesh underneath him would open up and swallow him, then again, perhaps that would truly happen if he made a mistake around here, the being whose hand he was on right now would certainly be far more powerful than any of those things, beings endlessly more powerful than Cades himself, that he was constantly looking at while being stuck in this accursed place.

Forcing himself to look further, away from his won face, eerie, silver mirrors as eyes, a faint trail of liquid escaping from them that resembled water, an endless stream at that, he looked further, expecting something monstrous after first changing the target of his attention, and, to his own misfortune, he was not disappointed with what he found, that being something rather insectile than ehetrian as he had secretly hoped, just to see another ehetrian, one that wasn't constantly intent on killing him.

What he saw instead was a cross mix of what he had expected, that being something insectile, and that which he had secretly hoped for, resulting in something far worse than he had expected and still, slightly strifeful in regards to his hope, though Cades simply couldn't understand why he felt like that when it came to his hope, something that was a miraculous and wondrous question to countless beings, not just himself in many regards.

One could not describe what he could see, but if one would try to do their best then it would best be described with an endlessly long, curled up centipede with ehetrian arms as legs, armoured in the chitin of a normal insect, just incomparably bigger and instead of the normal chitin the chitin of this being was in the form of countless hands all grabbing each and every one of the arms that were, at the base, before being enlarged by the endless amount of hands, just as thin as Cades' own, resulting in an endlessly detailed arm that held it all up, only the fingertips touching the ground, especially strong finger tips that ere also covered in the weird chitin armour, a dark, gooey, brown in colour, similar to what came out from the other end of one's body.

And countless of these legs protrude from under what seemed to be the body of a normal centipede, just incomparably bigger, stronger, and with a horrid twist that made Cades gag inwardly as he began to almost curl over and throw out his very stomach, something he hadn't found a real use for in ages anyways.

Normally one would expect such a being to have a natural armour, and this being did indeed have such a natural armour, or at least he assumed so, he also assumed it to be of the same colour as the legs and quite sleek, glinting from the light of the... actually... the light in this realm didn't really come from anywhere, it was really just there, so, just the light...

But instead it was covered in a useless armour that Cades knew far too well, an armour that Cades understood what it was on an almost instinctual level, an armour that had a grossly weird palish orange yellow white tone that varied from patch to patch, having something between them that looked like miniscule, small, knots and stitches from where he stood, something that was a wonder in how he was even able to perceive that, but also something he sincerely thanked everyone for, for he knew what the chitin-tight armour the thing was wearing truly was, for it was no mere cloth or something of that nature.

It was skin, ehetrian skin, aborhuman skin, aehtran skin, aoena skin, the skin of countless species, many of which he couldn't even begin to recognize, most of which did however look ehetrian, a species that had quite the average skin-colour, and the average bodily build, actually, ehetrians were wildly known for looking normal and familiar to countless species, aside from their wings and oftentimes piercing gaze, as well as their digestive system.

There were countless other details about that beast, many of which morbid and simply terrifying, such as a chain made of what seemed to be intestines that was wrapped around his very own face, partially even still connected to many a corpse, something that made him yearn to throw up his very innards as well, something he was simply unable to do.

However, luckily, or unluckily, for Cades, there was suddenly the sound of something behind Cades, powerful and clear, he heard something, something he didn't even really realize he had been yearning for ever since he got separated from his other self, and even long ago that, eternally long ago that, he heard a voice being cleared, the sound spreading across the entire realm and even, despite him not realizing, making the three monsters around him look with their silver eyes, just as Cades twirled around, his heart both expectant, happy, and terrified of what he might see.
