Chapter 348 - Battle

There was a fierce clash between the flames and the dragon energy ball.

One could only say that Salamence was strong. This Origin Divine Power was also very strong, just such a simple point that it could fight against the Red Flame.

And because of that, Rope didn't feel that this world would truly go out of control...

Because if the owner of this energy died in this world, then this world would not be as warm and peaceful as it is now.Red still wants to invade this world? I'll blow your head off.

Because the energy of the ownerless will overflow. And now these divine energies are more like being ordered to lie dormant. And will simply answer prayers. That's why the old man was able to utilize this divine energy to improve himself. That's why Rope was able to simply bind these Origin divine energies.

So Rope now suddenly felt that the one who was operating behind the scenes to find the divine power was really not a truly tricky character. His opponent was still that outsider whose origin was still unknown.

"Salamence! Dragon Tail!"

Seeing this, Mizuiro gave a direct order.

"Avoid!"

Rope had become his own most hated 'avoid quickly' player after all.

"Air Slash!"

Charizard's wings had sky-blue flight system energy converging on them, and in a moment two Air Cutter attacked towards Salamence as Charizard swung his wings.

"Take it hard, then Dragon Breath!"

Rope also felt his teeth ache as he heard Mizuiro's command. Sure enough, it was the classic dragon trainer's command method. Whether it was his own Cynthia when she was commanding Garchomp or that Lance guy when he was commanding Dragonite they would often use this.

Most of the Dragon Pokémon are paragons and have high defense and blood, so sometimes taking a direct hit isn't that big of a deal. That's because the opponent is Mizuiro.

If you were up against Cynthia or Garchomp, you wouldn't be able to carry it off. And as for splitting Air Slash with an arm blade...

Yes, like the armor on Salamence's abdomen, Garchomp's most powerful point is his arm blade. It could attack and defend.

"Protect!"

Rope didn't have much to offer, as his opponent traded wounds for wounds, his side had no choice but to block it. And although Dragon Breath's power wasn't very high. But there was no need to fight it hard after all.

Although Charizard was gifted and had the blood of a Dragon Pokémon in his body as well. But it's not a true Dragon Pokémon after all. At least not before mega evolution. So Rope could only avoid and block as much as possible.

The situation on the field gradually began to heat up. Neither side could do anything about it.

But Diana, who was watching the battle from the back, was a bit puzzled. She looked at the powerful Salamence on the opposite side, had a look at the normal Charizard on this side, and turned her head to ask Whitley with a puzzled expression, "Why doesn't Rope give Charizard reinforcement?"

Whitley blushed, having a look, she couldn't say she understood what exactly Rope was doing. Obviously it was enough to just do a stage of strengthening and put a flame armor on Charizard.

With the Flame Armor Charizard could have just carried the opponent's skills and then poured his own skills onto Salamence's body.

But Rope was partial.

"I suppose it's Charizard himself who doesn't want it. After all, Charizard himself is able to inspire Flame Armor."

Whitley pondered for a moment, then spoke up. Rope's Pokémon were all able to inspire Stage 1 Flame Armor and Stage 2 Full Body Armor on their own.

Diana was even more confused...

"That's the obsession between trainers, I guess. Charizard also wants to try himself without Rope's help."

Technically, Whitley wasn't much of a trainer right now, so she could only make some guesses about what Charizard and the others were thinking.

Trainers just had some odd guidelines or stubbornness sometimes. Each one was still different. It wouldn't be a big deal to say that they were little hobbies unique to each of them.

Rope is a researcher and a trainer, so he has more than his fair share of problems.

Charizard, on the other hand, has been with Rope since he was a kid, and he's picked up the same bad habits.

And Charizard's character has always been stubborn, so it's normal for him to behave like this.

With this in mind, Whitley was able to accept the current situation, while Diana and Sennogi were still a bit confused. It was obvious that they could win very quickly, but they had to go through so much trouble to fight against each other.

Rope looked at the battle in front of him, and also lamented the old man's persistence. It had to be said that the old man's body and bones were better than the average young man under the reinforcement of the Dragon Origin.

But the battle in front of him was not an ordinary battle. Commanding Divine Beasts to fight against each other came with a price. And the same goes for having to utilize those divine energies within one's body that don't belong to one's self.

The consumption of energy would be far greater than normal command.

Rope was different. His origin was his own, so he commanded it naturally as if it were his own. The energy in the old man's body and in Salamence's body was not the normal way to use it, whether it was bestowed or stolen. It was extremely depleting and extremely burdensome to one's self.

After fighting for close to two hours, Rope was getting a little tired. the old man Mizuiro was even more so.

Rope shook his head, he still had something to ask old man Mizuiro, if there was a different time and place, maybe Rope would be willing to give Mizuiro a decent ending, dying in the middle of a battle would not detract from the greatness of a trainer.

But not now.

"Charizard, fortify it."

In fact, Whitley guessed wrong. Charizard and Rope had been wearing it for so many years that all that unnecessary reserve had long since vanished into thin air. Not to mention that Flame Reinforcement was already its own ability for them.

Using it wouldn't even have any boring mental burdens like 'this isn't my own power' or anything like that.

There's simply no point in dwelling on it like that.

So actually, Rope is directing all of this. He's making the fight harder for Charizard. That was normal. After all, there were very few chances to fight a champion-level Pokémon at full strength, regardless of damage, under normal circumstances. It was only natural to take this opportunity to exercise everyone's fighting strength.

And Rope did want to show the old man some respect. He was now coaxing his opponent to talk about the information. If he really wanted to beat the old man into self-imposed isolation, then the situation would really not be easy to say.

It was said that old children, old children. The old man's temperament is actually as elusive as a child's.Rope felt that it was better for him to coax a little. Rope felt that it was better for him to coax a little bit, not to give himself trouble.

With Rope's command, Charizard reared his head and roared. Flames emerged from his body, forcing Salamence, who was attacking towards him, back.

Amidst Salamence's astonished gaze, the flames on Charizard's body solidified on his body, and a mighty and hideous flame armor wrapped around Charizard's vital parts.

And at this moment, Charizard's aura and battle power were naturally on a higher level.

Mizuiro looked across at Rope with a shocked expression.

It's almost like when you're on a big boss and you've managed to beat the boss to red blood. Then the first skill the designer designed for the boss red-blooded is Berserk, which increases attack power while returning full blood.

Isn't this typical bullshit!

There is one thing to be said for Mizuiro's old man's mind mind in a bit broken.

Rope had no intention of being polite with Old Man Mizuiro either. He had Charizard wear the flame armor, which itself was meant to be a quick battle.

"Charizard! Blast Burn!"

With Rope's command, Charizard raised his head and condensed a huge fireball above himself. The energy contained in the fireball and its own temperature was a bit frightening to watch Salamence.

"Salamence, interrupt him!"

Mizuiro was also aware of the current situation, but it had come to this, and there was no reason for the trainer to admit defeat.

After Salamence heard his trainer's order, his body was wrapped in blue-violet energy, and a dragon shadow appeared around him.

Salamence attacked towards Charizard in a flash, and there was a faint sound of a dragon's roar coming from the sky.

This move was also familiar to Charizard.

He also knew this move. Dragon God Swoop.

It was logical that Salamence, like Charizard, shouldn't know this move. I guess it's a genetic skill.

It looks like old man Mizuiro had a different kind of glory time when he was young!

A Pokémon with this kind of talent is no cabbage. Even if the League hadn't been established back then...there would have been even fewer of these. After all, there weren't any standardized norms for interracial egg hatching back then. That is to say, the concept of egg groups hadn't been introduced yet.

So of course things like genetic skills hadn't been organized.

The huge fireball smashed straight towards Salamence, but Salamence didn't have any intention of dodging at all either.

For one, it was because there wasn't much room for dodging in this. Secondly...if one couldn't face such a situation straight on. Not to mention facing other hardships and dangers.

Their pride would not allow them to back down here.

Rope's respect for the old man and Salamence is on the up and up. But there can be no softening up to them. Because that's the way the world works sometimes.

And so like a brilliant firework bursting through the air, Blast Burn exploded through the air with a loud noise. The crowd was forced to squint their eyes by the ensuing shockwave and curling smoke.

They didn't want to miss a single second.

Finally, in the sky, a blue and purple figure crashed down.

The winner had been decided. The corners of Mizuiro's mouth showed meaning bitterness. He was not worried about his partner's situation.

After all, Rope couldn't just sit back and do nothing about this situation.

As expected, Charizard swooped down from the sky and caught Salamence before he hit the ground, then slowly landed on the ground.

Mizuiro rushed over to check on his partner as Salamence hit the ground.

Salamence forced up his eyelids and rubbed them against the old man's hand.

"Tough luck, old buddy."

Mizuiro had a smile on his face as well. He was genuinely surprised that his old buddy was okay.

"Old man, now it's time to tell me what I want to know."

Rope walked closer to old man Mizuiro and handed over a bottle of good wound medicine then opened his mouth to ask.

He really didn't have anything better on hand either. After all, his Pokémon usually didn't get hurt, and even if it was on his hand occasionally, it was perfectly fine to just simply heal it with flames first. At least it wouldn't affect combat power.

And then go back to Ms. Joy for treatment. Or just simply heal themselves. After all, the Red Flame also enhanced their ability to heal themselves.

"I don't think I promised you this."

Mizuiro didn't look at Rope. just said so with his head down.

Rope shrugged, then gave a wink to Charizard. charizard naturally understood, then rested his claws on Salamence's neck.

The threat had been obvious as well.

Mizuiro glanced at Rope, then at Salamence, and spoke, "I really don't know the exact whereabouts. Because Azure Flute has been given to a person."

"What person?"

Rope didn't cringe tightly, not realizing that there was actually such a question.

"The man's name was Al. Other than the name, that's all I know about him is that he's also a Familiar. But I don't even know exactly what village the other person came from or why he suddenly came to this village."

Mizuiro's expression was very serious.Rope couldn't see the slightest intention to lie either. Thinking that since he had already opened his mouth, there was no need to deceive Rope about such things.

After all, seriously, Rope hadn't done anything to apologize to Mizuiro until now.

If in such a situation, Mizuiro was planning to pit a hand against Rope, then Rope didn't mind giving Mizuiro a deep lesson.

As long as Mizuiro Old Man is still in a civilized place he will be cleaned up by Rope. Don't underestimate League's ability to find people. Especially when League spares no expense.

Rope was a little confused for a moment, so he spoke up again and asked, "Did he say why he was using Azure Flute?"

Mizuiro shook his head and said, "I don't know what he was planning to do. When he took the Azure Flute he simply said that it might bring me disaster in my hands, so it would be better for him to keep it."

"So you just let him take it?"

Hoopa asked, opening his mouth in disbelief.

It simply didn't make sense. This was Azure Flute, even a fool would know that this thing couldn't just be given to anyone!

Mizuiro looked at Hoopa with an odd expression on his face, as if saying 'haven't you read it yet?'

Hoopa felt like his intelligence was being despised. Light wanted to open his mouth when he realized that Whitley and the girls were nodding in understanding.

For a moment, he wondered if he should really wonder what had gone wrong.

Rope of course understood what Mizuiro meant, and I'm afraid that the situation shouldn't have been much different then than it is now.

So how many other people could win so easily against a champion level old man?

"So you didn't know he was in that village either?"

"No idea. But I'm certain he's a Favored One, since that divine power flows through his body as well."

Rope rubbed his chin, then went into deep thought.
