It's been two days since Goku learned he was forced into a political marriage with Tamari of the Sand and placed in the C.R.A.
It was early afternoon when Jiraiya left Goku to look for Naruto. At that time, Jiraiya was planning to finish his investigation across the village before going to find Tsunade.
Goku: Damn, that pervert had to leave me alone looking for Naruto while he goes and takes a peek at naked women in the local baths. It's noon, and there's only one place where Naruto is now-Ichiraku's Ramen.
When Goku arrives at Ichiraku's Ramen, he sees Naruto standing there without any clothing on but his green boxers while he checks his pants for a coupon that will allow him to get free ramen. Goku finds it odd to see Naruto in such a sorry state. The cook tells Naruto he can't eat if he can't find that coupon.
Goku: Am I interrupting something important here? Perhaps it would be best if I returned later.
Naruto: Oh, hey, Goku, you are not interrupting anything. I'm just looking for my free ramen coupon.
Goku: So why did you take off your pants?
Naruto: Weren't you listening? I'm looking for my free ramen coupon.
Goku: Uh-huh, that makes sense, I guess. I'll tell you what, Naruto, place whatever order you want since I'll pay for the ramen today.
Naruto: Really?
Naruto commented with a glimmer of excitement in his eyes.
Goku: You got it. But before we continue, could you please put your clothes back on? I don't want everyone looking at us strangely.
As Goku and Naruto complete their 12th bowl of ramen each, Goku asks Naruto whether he would be interested in going on a mission with him and Jiraiya. Naruto says that he would, but he has to train.
Goku: Hey, Naruto, Jiraiya, and I have a mission outside the Leaf Village. Would you like to join us?
Naruto: I can't because I must prepare for my training. I have to get up to speed with Sasuke as quickly as possible.
Goku: If training interests you, then you should join us. I'm sure that Ero-Sannin won't mind assisting you with your workout, and I'm also confident that he'll be able to teach you a thing or two while you're working together on this mission.
Naruto: He won't mind if I ask him for help with my training. Then let me go home and pack the stuff I need to bring. I'll catch up with you guys at the main entrance gates if you don't mind waiting there.
Goku, on the other hand, was heading in the opposite direction. He was making his way toward the main gates of the Leaf Village to catch up with Jiraiya. Naruto sped off in the direction of his apartment and started running.
Goku: You wrap up your research as quickly as possible. I was getting to the point where I thought it was pretty unlikely that I could meet you within the next several hours.
Goku looked at Jiraiya while he had a profound look on his face.
Jiraiya: It wasn't that type of research.
Goku: Really, I'm intrigued. So, what type of research was it other than the perverted research you do every time you write a book?
Jiraiya looks at Goku before speaking.
Jiraiya: We need to find your mom and convince her to take the role of Hokage soon.
Goku: The situation is that bad. Is my mom in any danger?
Jiraiya: It's possible. Because of this, we have to find your mother as quickly as possible and bring her back to Konoha. Do you have any idea where she may be at this very moment?
Before responding to Jiraiya, Goku stood there thinking with his right palm on his chin in silence before finally speaking.
Goku: In a letter that I received from Shizune almost a month ago, she mentioned that they had just finished a job and were on their way to Tanzaku Quarters because my mother was feeling lucky and wanted to gamble a little bit.
Jiraiya: Okay, instead of wandering from town to town in search of Tsunade, we should make a beeline for Tanzaku and head there directly. That frees up additional time for Naruto and you to train together.
When Jiraiya mentioned Naruto's name, he had just walked up to the gates where Goku and Jiraiya stood.
Naruto: Alright, let's find that person you guys have been talking about, so let's get moving. In addition, I need your help in training Perry Sage. Goku said there was something you wanted to teach me.
Jiraiya suddenly turned to stare at Goku, but Goku swiftly placed his hands on his head and started whistling as he walked away like nothing had occurred.
Goku, Jiraiya, and Naruto traveled the road toward the village, searching for where Tsunade was supposed to be.
IN THE MEANTIME, WITHIN THE TANZAKU QUARTERS.
At that moment, Tsunade was playing a game of cards with several individuals.
"You win again," the other person commented after every win that she had.
Tsunade never stopped complaining about her good luck, even after she was winning.
Tsunade: Shit, this is a somewhat issue. There is an indication of bad luck in my winning in each hand of cards I participate in.
After she was successful at the casino, many people there became confused and wondered why anyone would be complaining about it.
The following day.
It was early morning when Jiraiya, Goku, and Naruto were picking up their sleeping camp things. Naruto was muttering to himself about how they should have stayed in one of the inns that was close to an outpost village.
Jiraiya: I told you, brat, it's better like this. I can focus more on your guys' training while we are on the road.
Jiraiya, who had decided that it was time to train them, began by giving Naruto a balloon filled with water and telling him that he needed to concentrate on the rotation of the chakra and its manipulation and that it was compressed into a sphere of air. Jiraiya proved this by trying it out on a tree and leaving a hole in it. This experiment piqued the interest of Naruto and Goku, who then started experimenting with the method using that balloon.
Naruto: This technique is a powerful one.
Jiraiya: The answer is yes. As a result, it falls under the category of class A jutsu; therefore, it is an extremely powerful jutsu, a destructive force that cannot questioned. It was the 4th Hokage who came up with this jutsu. It took him three years.
Naruto's eyes turned into stars as he heard from Jiraiya that the Fourth Hokage created the Rasengan and that Jiraiya was his Sensei.
Jiraiya looked around, looking until he noticed Goku staring at the ground; with a surprised look, he walked toward Goku to see what was happening and sat beside him.
Jiraiya: I haven't seen your face make that expression in a while. So tell me, what did you discover?
Goku smiled at Jiraiya with teary eyes.
Goku: Your explanation on how to create the Rasengan.
Jiraiya: What do you want to learn about Rasengan, too? I tried to instruct you when you were younger, but your mother would not let me. She explained that you were too young and that your body would not be able to withstand the stress of the Rasengan if you were to do it. When I try to bring up the matter of you learning the Rasengan, she always resists, and then I question why she constantly plays the mother card in these situations.
Goku: It's funny because it sounds like something she'd say. However, that is not the case. I came across an old scroll that belonged to my father and his clan about three years ago. It discussed a jutsu that all potential clan leaders and current clan leaders needed to be familiar with. I have been attempting to learn set moves, but my attempts have always been unsuccessful. It wasn't until I watched you make the Rasengan on your palm that I noticed how similar it is to the drawings on my father's scroll.
Jiraiya: Can I see that scroll, Goku?
Goku took out a small scroll and placed it on the ground, and with a hand sign from Goku, a wooden chest appeared in front of Goku and Jiraiya. That caught the attention of Naruto.
Naruto: What are you guys doing, and where did that chest come from?
Goku: I had it stored in one of my scrolls.
Naruto: Wait, you can do that.
Goku: Yeah. Wait, didn't you know it was possible? Where did you think Tenten got all of her weapons from?
Naruto: Hahaha, It never crossed my mind.
Goku: That's it; when I become Hokage, I'll make it mandatory for everyone in the academy to learn the basics of Sealing items in scrolls.
Afterward, Goku would open the lock on the chest, remove the scroll from within, and hand it to Jiraiya. After inspecting the scroll, Jiraiya realized that the missing steps were almost identical to those required to use the Rasengan. Once more, Goku was given the scroll, and this time, Jiraiya gave it to him with a laugh.
Jiraiya: To think that your father and his people could have devised an attack of such nature is beyond my comprehension. I can only lament over the fact that I never got the chance to speak with him. Goku, you do have a chance of achieving your goal. I have faith that you will be successful. But Goku, this is something that you need to complete on your own, and I am not going to be there to assist you in any way.
Jiraiya stood back up, grabbed Naruto, and left Goku by himself.
Naruto: Hey there, pervy sage, you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to assist Goku. Because you won't help him, he's probably feeling down about it.
Jiraiya: Ha, Goku, that boy is not depressed since I will not help him in any way. It would appear that way to someone who isn't familiar with him, but what I saw was a blazing fire that burned hot in his eyes.
Three weeks later, at Tanzaku Quarters
It was late afternoon when Jiraiya, Naruto, and Goku finally reached the town of Tanzaku Quarters.
Jiraiya: Goku, can you pick up on Tsunade or Shizune's chakra waves?
Goku would first bend down, close his eyes, and place two fingers on the ground before continuing. Goku would eventually open his eyes and stare at Jiraiya a few seconds later.
Naruto: What is he doing?
Jiraiya: Goku is a ninja who specializes in the sensory area. To put it another way, he ought to be able to locate our target by picking up on her chakra.
Goku: It's too many people here, Ero-Sannin. I am sorry for not being able to sense them at all. I am unable to zero down on their precise location. At this moment, the ideal course of action would be to visit every casino and bar in the town.
Jiraiya: I was hoping you could sense them right away.
Goku: I couldn't something happen? Half of the town's people are in distress. Either they just ran a marathon, or they were running away from something. Their vitals and chakra have spiked way high for an average person.
Naruto: We should have asked Kiba to lend us one of his dogs so it could track this Tsunade person.
Goku widened his eyes wide open and stared at Naruto.
Goku: Naruto, you are a Guinness.
Goku leaps up to the top of a nearby light pole and sniffs the air in an effort to locate his mother and sister as swiftly as possible.
Goku: Sniff, sniff, sniff.
Naruto: I guess he's had one too many blows to the head to count at this point. Hey, Goku, just so you know, I was joking, right?
Goku: Found them.
Naruto: What.
Jiraiya: Show us the way then.
Goku quickly jumped off the light pole and walked into the town center. After almost an hour, Goku and the rest arrived in front of a bar.
Jiraiya: Is this the place?
Goku: Sniff, sniff, yes.
Naruto: Why are we at a bar?
Jiraiya: She's here.
Naruto: We can go in. Goku and I are underage.
Goku: Naruto, don't you know that with the ninja headband, we are considered an adult in the eyes of this world?
Goku's gaze wandered toward the back of the tavern as they all entered the building, and he finally caught sight of both his older sister, Shizune, and his mother, Tsunade, after being apart from each other for more than six months. This was Goku's first opportunity to see either of them since they had been separated.
When Goku saw them, he couldn't help but break out in a wide grin. Jiraiya quickly took note of Goku's reaction, and he looked in the same direction that Goku was looking. There, he noticed Shizune, together with his former teammate Tsunade.
Jiraiya addressed Tsunade by name and gave her a friendly wave. Tsunade sprang up from her seat and began sprinting toward him with her arms spread wide apart. Jiraiya began to race toward her, and the thought crossed his mind that finally, Tsunade was going to demonstrate some sort of compassion toward him, and he was at last going to make some sort of contact with Tsunade's chest. As a result of this thought, he started sprinting toward her as well. But what Jiraiya didn't realize in time was that Tsunade realized that he was there. She only saw Goku run toward him right away.
Both Jiraiya and Naruto were knocked back across the bar by a fast backhand slap that Tsunade delivered to Jiraiya's face. The slap came from Tsunade's direction. She would then pick Goku up and give him a bear hug, which would nearly put him out of consciousness since her chest would suffocate him as she was holding him.
End of Chapter.
