"…That was amazing," Rafayel couldn't help but murmur.
"Right? I've got it in me when it counts," Khazan said proudly.
But with that much noise, won't we be discovered? Rafayel thought, just as Khazan shouted, "Rafayel, hurry up! That sound's gonna bring them back!"
They rushed out from the underground chLytt, and fortunately, no enemies had arrived yet.
Khazan pulled Rafayel by the hand and led him out of the room.
"Khazan! We still don't have solid evidence—!"
"It's fine! The fact there's a hidden basement is evidence enough! If we report this to the Knight Order and get a full house search authorized, they'll find what we need. For now, we get out of this place!"
With those words, Khazan tightened his grip on Rafayel's hand and broke into a run.
But after a moment, he shouted, "Sorry, Rafayel!" and hoisted him up onto his back.
