Darren's POV
The rest of the dinner party was uneventful, apart from the moment when I announced Jason's new position. Gasps filled the hall, shocked faces sprouting in every corner. No one expected it and since I announced it myself, they knew it was true.
Jordan walked up to me, offering me a glass of red wine.
"This isn't the BludSkin Wine you promised."
"Yeah, I've sent that to your room."
"Why? Weren't we supposed to drink it together and talk?"
"Yes, but I have to go back. Back to my family."
"So soon? Stay a while."
"Brother, I can't. They don't even know I'm here."
"Then tell them."
"It's not so simple. You know what? Why don't you visit?"
"Visit? I'd have done that ages ago if I knew where you were."
"Africa. Precisely Nigeria. The southwestern part."
"You went home? Your ancestors' land? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to bother you but now that things are settled I would love for you to come see the life I have built for myself and my family."
