As soon as he arrives on Hargeon, Alex immediately senses Acnologia's magic power. It means Acnologia has gotten rather close to the town. So Alex just jumps over the town in a single leap as a full size Kokuo and lands on the sea.
He immediately rushes towards Acnologia using his magic sense to guide him. Fortunately, Acnologia isn't flying at high speed, so Alex can intercept him while he is still very far from the mainland.
Acnologia sees him coming and seems to be grinning before preparing a Dragon Roar. It's a very powerful Dragon Roar, comparable to the one used against Zeref, which is strong enough to obliterate a town instantly.
Alex can sense the Dragon Roar's power and he doesn't want to take any risk by facing it. So he flanks to the right, but Acnologia simply needs to turn his body following where Alex is going before shooting his powerful Dragon Roar when it's ready.
But Alex is moving very fast, so Acnologia's Dragon Roar beam doesn't hit him. Again, he just needs to turn his body and head following where Alex is going. He turns his head very quickly, making the beam moves very fast too as it cuts the sea.
Too bad for Acnologia, Alex also dodges it by jumping to the left just before the beam hit him. Dodging attacks is something that Alex is very good at. After all, he is very observant and he knows that no matter how powerful an attack is, it will be useless if it doesn't hit.
Alex moves away from Acnologia. He tries to lure the Black Dragon away from Ishgar again and Alvarez is still his destination. But Acnologia actually stays and doesn't chase Alex at all.
Instead, Acnologia is preparing another Dragon Roar while looking an the direction of Hargeon Town. Alex is surprised by this because it seems Acnologia is dead set on attacking Ishgar now. So Alex has no choice but to approach Acnologia again.
He runs as fast as he can while shooting glowing red energy balls from his tails toward Acnologia. These are scorching hot balls made using Kokuo's Boil Release. Grimoire Heart couldn't handle these boil balls, but it might not work on Acnologia.
His priority is to shift away Acnologia's attention from the town. It's also to check whether his magic can affect Acnologia or not. Tailed Beast Bomb is unique, so Alex wasn't surprised that it could affect Acnologia, but these boil balls are similar to normal magic, so they might not affect Acnologia at all.
The boil balls fly very fast and hit Acnologia's body from the left. They hit the Black Dragon's scales, creating explosions. Acnologia is roaring and his Dragon Roar is canceled.
Alex is surprised and looks carefully at Acnologia's expression that seems to be very annoyed. Between the explosions, he can see Acnologia's scales are a little scorched and damaged, showing that Alex's attacks work.
"It works! Elemental attacks work. It's not just Tailed Beast Bomb that works on him." Alex is very happy.
Previously, he and the Tailed Beasts assume that the Tailed Beast Bomb they shot at Acnologia when they managed to lure him to Alvarez was working on the Black Dragon who has immunity to almost all magic because it's made of all nature elements including Yin and Yang.
The combination of all elements must've created a unique power that worked against Acnologia's immunity to all elements. That's why they want to know if it's the Tailed Beast Bomb or their magic that's unique.
Now they finally get the answer. The Boil Balls work on Acnologia, which means their magic is the unique one and Acnologia doesn't have immunity against their magic.
It's most likely because their magic comes from another world's abilities that are adapted to this world and become magic. Even after being turned into magic, the properties of their abilities still remain there, that's why they are different from any of this world's magic.
Also, seeing their magic works on Acnologia means that their magic is at least at the same tier as Acnologia's magic. Most Human Magic doesn't work against Dragons because its tier is lower, that's why God Slayer Magic that has a higher tier can work on Dragons, but it's not easy to learn.
The Tailed Beasts' magic should be at least at the same tier as the Dragons' magic because it can affect a Dragon like Acnologia. Well, it makes sense because the Tailed Beasts were like Demigods in Naruto world, just like how people thought of Dragons in this world.
They should at least be on the same level, so it's not strange that their abilities are also on par. Also, it won't make sense if the Gods who gave Alex his abilities weren't giving him abilities that could work on Dragons when Acnologia is one of the main enemies.
When Alex is feeling a little happy, Acnologia suddenly roars and flies down toward Alex. He flies very fast with his claws glowing. Acnologia is really fast and reaches Alex quickly.
Then he tries to bite Alex's neck while also sending his right claws to Alex's body. But Alex suddenly disappears. Alex doesn't really disappears, just canceling his full-size Kokuo transformation.
Alex ttansforms back into a normal-sized human and drops into the ocean, avoiding Acnologia's attack. Acnologia flies above the water for a while before going up again to look at Alex who now floats above the water.
Rather than angry, Acnologia seems amused while looking at Alex. He can sense that Alex is much weaker than him. But it's amusing to see that Alex has good tricks and can see all of his attacks.
"What are you?" Acnologia suddenly speak, surprising Alex.
Of course, Alex knows that Acnologia can speak, but he never thought Acnologia will talk to him. Though he isn't sure what Acnologia means by asking that.
"What do you mean by what am I? I'm obviously a human." Alex moves to stand on the water.
"You are not a Dragon? Is that why you don't feel like a Dragon? Then what was that form just now? That 5-tailed Horse Dragon?"
"5-tailed Horse Dragon?" Alex raises an eyebrow. It seems like Acnologia thought that Kokuo is a kind of Dragon. He looks nothing like a Dragon in Alex's eyes, but maybe the Dragons here actually came in various shapes and forms.
Well, Wendy's Dragon parent, Grandeney seemed to have fur all over her body instead of scales. Many Dragons also don't have wings. Some looked like clumps of rocks too. So maybe it's possible for a horse-like Dragon to exist.
"Are you here now because you think I'm a Dragon?"
"No, it's for the 3-tailed Turtle Dragon. But it seems I also need to destroy you. Dragon or not, you posses Dragon-like power, so I'll just kill you." Acnologia grins widely.
"You really are unreasonable." Alex had a little hope that Acnologia will leave after losing interest when knowing that he is not a Dragon. But it seems this Dragonized dude just wants to destroy everything now.
Besides, from what he said before, it seems like Acnologia doesn't know that Isobu is also him. So even if he leaves Alex now, he might still go to Ishgar to find Isobu even though it's Alex all along, it's the same person who also transformed into the 5-tailed Horse Dragon.
Alex is about to transform again when he senses a strong magic power coming from the direction of Ishgar. Acnologia also seems to sense it and both of them are looking there now. They see a giant lightning spear flying through the sky towards Acnologia.
The gleams on Acnologia's eyes change as if he finally finds something he really likes. He roars at the incoming giant lightning spear before easily swatting it down into the sea with his glowing claws as if it's just a ball thrown by a child.
But the lightning spear is actually really powerful that it creates a very powerful explosion when it falls into the sea. The explosion creates massive waves that spreads everywhere, including where Alex is floating.
"Well, damn." Alex immediately transforms into Mini Isobu to avoid being killed by the waves. He'll be fine even if he's drowned by the massive waves as Isobu.
After the waves calm down, Alex peeks above the water with his Mini Isobu head and looks at the direction of Ishgar. He sees 5 airships are coming and with his sharp eyes, he can see the people standing on the airships' heads.
"The 4 Gods of Ishgar and some Wizard Saints? Then that giant lightning spear just now must be Serena's doing."
Alex can see God Serena standing on the most front airship alone while the other Wizard Saints are on the other ships. Makarov, Ur, and Jura are also on those ships. Some Guild Masters from nearby Guilds are also there.
"I should be happy to receive some help, but this doesn't seem like it'll end nicely."
