DAHLIA POV
The whole place grew silent at my command. The only sound that could be heard was that of the wind blowing harshly in my face as if trying to warn me to get back in line. But I already spoke up and it may not have been the brightest idea based on the way everyone was staring at me. The man dragging the girl too eyed me up and down, a hard look on his face as if daring me to say that again. I should have kept my head low, which would have been the logical thing to do but there was no way that I was going to allow him to beat a child.
I stepped forward, "Let her go!"
The soldier released a loud laughter, before he paused and stared at me. "So wait, you are serious?" He asked as he stared at me. "Oh gods above, you are serious!" The soldier answered his own question when I didn't response.
