In truth, the Mushroom King really was a very strong and feared monster in the world. It could defeat armies using its numerous toxic spores that even the best herbalists couldn't counter. Not only that, but inside this very pocket dimension, the Mushroom King was almost immortal as it could spawn itself infinitely using its own spores.
However, it was in an extremely bad match up against Michael, who could create and synthesize skills at the drop of a hat. His complete mastery over mana allowed him to prevent the Mushroom King from using its best weapons, nullifying its spores and basically turning the Mushroom King into a harmless cow.
