Chapter 374 - 374. Energy Cascade

----

Though it felt like an eternity, the Three Legendary Birds' ominous spiral through the clouds lasted only a few minutes.

And then—

The sky changed.

It began as a glimmer a ripple of power weaving through the clouds.

Water particles, lightning particles, and fire particles, once scattered, are now reconverged, forming a colossal, radiant column of energy.

A beam of light.

Blinding, brilliant.

It tore downward from the heavens like a blade, slicing through the dark night sky, shining brighter than the midday sun.

---

At the Pokémon Center, Professor Oak and the others stared in silent awe at the distant spectacle.

The female reporter rubbed her eyes in disbelief. "Is that… a waterfall in the sky?"

Professor Oak, voice steady but grave, offered a professional explanation.

"No. That isn't a waterfall. It's a fusion of elemental forces, lightning, fire, and ice, all merging and refracting through the atmosphere. Gravity is pulling it downward, making it look like a cascading fall of light."

Even in the chaos, Oak's brilliance showed.

In just a few seconds, he had pieced together the theory behind what they were witnessing.

The reporter, still wide-eyed, pressed further. "Is this… some kind of attack technique? I've never seen anything like it!"

Oak nodded.

"Indeed. But it's not simply a coordinated move. It's a transmutation a fusion of raw elemental energies, not just aligning powers but fundamentally altering them.

It's incredibly dangerous. One misstep and the energy would explode uncontrollably. Only creatures of Legendary power could even attempt such a thing let alone master it."

The reporter gasped.

She hadn't realized the depth of what they were witnessing.

Oak frowned, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Of course… it's strange. Wild Pokémon couldn't pull something like this off instinctively. It would require careful training, synchronization… maybe even a Trainer's guidance."

He immediately dismissed the thought with a nervous chuckle.

No, surely the Unown's illusions had somehow made it possible.

There was no way a real Trainer could command the Three Legendary Birds.

Right?

He shook the idea from his mind. It was too crazy to consider.

---

Meanwhile, the tension on the battlefield reached its breaking point.

The pillar of energy descended faster and faster, devouring everything it touched.

Snowflakes, raindrops, and loose crystals Vaporized instantly in its path.

Down below, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou gave up their futile resistance.

Instinct screamed at them to run and they ran, leaping desperately in different directions.

But it was far too late.

In mere heartbeats, the beam struck the ground where the Beasts had fought.

Hisssssss—

There was no explosion.

No shockwave.

At first, it was quiet.

The beam simply erased whatever it touched.

The crystalline ground, once so hard and impenetrable, disintegrated into fine dust, then gas, vanishing completely into the night.

It was terrifying.

And then—

The delayed impact.

BOOM!

A colossal explosion erupted at the impact site, sending a mushroom cloud soaring into the sky.

Shockwaves ripped across the landscape in an instant, swallowing everything in their path including the fleeing Beasts.

The blast wave smashed into the base of the Crystal Tower, peeling away crystalized structures like paper caught in a hurricane.

From the Pokémon Center, Oak and the others could see it happening.

They didn't know if the Beasts had survived.

But one thing was certain:

The Crystal Tower was falling.

Chunks of it were simply… gone.

By the time the beam dissipated, only a shattered, crumbling stump remained of what had once been a magnificent, towering structure.

Far from the blast, Kai and Erika clung to Charizard as it raced through the sky.

But the shockwave caught them like a hammer.

Charizard grunted in surprise, buffeted hard, losing control and they crashed into the ground below!

Erika cried out as they tumbled, but Gengar reacted fast, catching them midair with a sudden gust of ghostly wind, softening the impact.

Even so, they rolled across the shattered ground before coming to a stop.

Kai shook himself off quickly, grimacing.

Thanks to his toughened body, he was mostly fine.

Erika, protected by him during the fall, was shaken but unharmed.

Realizing he was still practically lying on top of her, Kai flushed slightly, scrambling to his feet and helping her up.

"Sorry… I didn't mean to squash you."

Erika, ever composed, merely shook her head with a small smile.

She understood. In that chaos, survival came first.

They turned back to survey the aftermath.

The skies were eerily clear now—

The stars twinkled above, the storm completely gone.

Below, the once-majestic crystal forest was reduced to rubble, a field of glittering dust and broken fragments.

And the Crystal Tower itself…

Only a cracked foundation remained.

The once-proud structure was shattered.

Wiped almost completely from existence.

Erika rubbed her aching arms, staring in stunned silence.

The sheer power of it all…

The Three Legendary Birds weren't just rare Pokémon.

They were forces of nature.

They had rewritten the landscape.

Terrifying.

Beautiful.

Unstoppable.

And somehow… they had listened to Kai's command.
