Just as I was finishing up my tea there was a knock on the door. I jolt. That's quite startling. "Anna what time is it?" "It's 11:03 pm, your highness. It's quite late. Would you like me to send whoever it is away?" "Yes please, nicely." I don't know who it could be but it's far too late to be visiting, His Majesty the King would have no reason to and Princess Leislia should be sleeping now. Anna goes to open the door and I hear her say, "The Princess is resting now. Please come again tomorrow." "NO! Open the door you filthy maid! I need to see her now!" I can hear from his shout that it's the crown prince. How dare he come visit me so close to midnight, and he dares to yell at my maid as well? His behavior is getting too extreme. "Anna let in the Crown Prince." "Yes, Your Highness." She says opening the door. "Lerape!" He says excitedly walking over towards me. "What brings you here so late, Noahen?" "Why are you being so formal?" He says almost solemnly. "How is treating you as my brother formal?" "Because I'm not your brother!" He shouts. The prince is starting to make me angry. "You mean to say that His Majesty's adoption of me was just a shame? That the imperial documents signed are just false?" "Lerape…" He says more softly this time. "The way we were yesterday, it wasn't that of a brother and sister. It was much more. I want it to stay like that. How about this, you can father, to just unadopt you, and I'll find a way to make you my wife, and if not my mistress." I almost choke on my tea. At some point along the line I started to realize that he might like me but, what he just said is not the words of someone who should one say be governing a whole kingdom. What he just said is so wrong, so disgusting it makes me want to vomit. "Your Highness! How could you say such a thing to the princess! She is our savior! A symbol of holiness. How could you suggest something so vulgar!?" I'm shocked. I wasn't expecting Anna to say something in my defense. After all, I'm a mere princess with no influence, she won't gain anything by doing that. It makes me happy to know that someone is on my side though.
