Hu Li enjoy the sun and the sand. Some days Dong wan and Yang Yang follow Hai out to the sea. While Hu Li and Hei sit by the beach and watch them. The days are pass with laughter and sunshine. The more Hu Li stays with Hei, the more she enjoy his company. One of those lazy days, While siting under the tree reading an old book, Fei appear out of no where. He soon complaint that his brothers are leaving him out on a reunion. Hai return from fishing to find his brother complaining to Hu Li. The brothers greet each other politely unlike how they greet Hei. When going home, Fei have to pretend he is blind thus he grab hold of Hu Li's hand and walk through the village. Hei who is with master Wu stop at what he is doing when he see Hu Li holding Fei's hand. His eye squint as they walk in. Hai is walking in front them is struggling to carry his fishing net as Yang Yang is pulling and walking fast. While Dong Wan is carrying two basket full of fishes.
The human girl appear before dinner to provide Hai some cook food. While Hai gives her the basket of fishes. She look at Hu Li and look disappointed. She walk away dragging her feet. Hu Li understand what she is thinking thus she run after that human girl.
"Hello, i am Hai's sister. Yu'er"
Immediately that human girl's eyes light up.
"I am Gu Nui!"
"Thank you for taking care of my brother and grandfather."
"It is nothing! I hope you enjoy the cook seafood!"
"We will. The others are also family members of Hai. I will introduce to you some other day when you are not busy."
"She nod her head and smile. She run home happily. Hu Li turn around and giggle. That girl have a crush on Hai.
Even though they do not need to eat, they put up a show for the neighbours. Pretending to eat and acting its an art. However it seems like master Wu is truly eating the dishes serve on the table. Everyone is wondering how he manage to chew without teeth and his happy smiley face tells how much he is enjoying the company and the food. Because the speed of master Wu they eat dinner from the time the sun sets till the dark night looms over them. Dong wan and Yang Yang immediately wash the dishes when master Wu put down his rice bowl and stand up.
The next day, Hu Li wake up late. She is alone in the water cave house. She look at the scroll with the prince suppose to be imprisoned. He is not in it thus Hu Li look around. She see him at the book shelves with his back facing her. He is reading a book. The third prince have a long strong upper body. His hair is long and shiny. He turn around and smile. He have some short fringe that cover up to his eyebrows. His eye disappear in a line when he smile. His teeth is in a neat row. His high cheeks are ruddy with three red lines on both side. Also he speaks with a strange accent plus it sound bit like as if he is singing.
"Hello i think you know who i am but i still need to introduce myself. I am Long San the son of the Eastern Seas."
Hu Li tilt her head to the left. She smile and get out of her bed. She put on her shoes and walk to him. Long San continue to smile in a strange way.
"My name is ... Yu'er."
"Yu... as in jade? That is a really nice name."
"Thank you..."
"My name is straight forward. I am the third son so i am San. While Long because i am part dragon."
"What sort of dragon are you?"
"I am a born from my mother, an octopus . While my father is a sea dragon. I am a rare breed. When i morph, most human don't know what kind of dragon am i. Usually if i am trap in those nets, the human will throw me back into the seas. They know i can't be eaten or maybe cause there is nothing to eat."
"So what or how do you look like? I don't know anything about sea creatures."
"According to some books i have seen, they describe that i have a head of a horse. a body of an dragon... i'm not sure what is a horse..."
He continue to smile. Hu Li feel that behind his smile is a boil of anger in him. However she smile and they talk about he book that he is reading.
Every morning, Hu Li and Long San spend two hours together. Either they talk about those ancient books or they take morning walks by the beach. Hei did not like Long San much. Fei tolerate the Prince as he finds that the man is putting on a fake front. While Hai ignore that prince as he had been seeing him for the past century there is nothing that he likes about him. Yang Yang and Dong Wan get along with Long San just like Hu Li. That morning before the sun raises, everyone watch Hai goes off to the sea with a human with him. The human girl is waving with excitement. Hu Li walk up to her and talk. She later introduced the rest of the family to Gu Nui.
"Ah there is so many of you, how did you all squeeze in that small hut?"
"Oh, some of us sleep outside. At the porch."
"Yes it is comfortable outside with the breeze. "
"Well in that case, let me prepare more food for dinner! Since there is so many of you."
"No what we..."
"Don't be shy. I have been cooking for Hai ger since he got here. He doesn't know how to cook and his grandfather is fussy with food. So i volunteer to help to cook. Besides that whatever he fish, he gives it to me and my brother. We sell it in the market, there is enough money for all of us."
"You are so kind Gu Nui."
"Not as kind as Hai ger. He helps all the villagers whenever he can. He never grumble nor complaints. He is really a good man."
Hu Li look at the human girl with pity in her eyes. She doesn't know that Hai is not a human but a beast that lives on forever. She hope that she will never know and she can live her life peacefully.
