Chapter 439: Chaos in the New World
The man who should have faded into obscurity for over twenty years—Buggy the Clown—unexpectedly made his name echo across the world two decades ahead of schedule.
---
East Blue — Near Syrup Village
A small boat drifted across the calm waters. At the bow stood a red-haired man wearing a straw hat: Shanks.
He held a newspaper and smiled.
"Buggy, looks like you've found your crew… I need to catch up."
The boat continued quietly toward Syrup Village.
On the shore, a dark-skinned young man with a pointed nose sat alone, gazing out at the endless sea.
"Huh? A ship? That's rare… must be a traveler," the young man murmured.
Shanks slowly paddled toward him.
"I've come looking for a man named Yasopp," Shanks said with a smile, adjusting his hat.
The young man turned, surprised.
"I'm Shanks, a pirate," he added.
Yasopp stared at this unexpected visitor for a long moment…
And so, the wheel of fate turned again.
The end of one era marked the beginning of the next.
Those chosen by destiny were stepping onto the stage of history.

New World — Elsewhere
"Damn it! These scum just keep coming!"
Robert stood panting, surrounded by defeated pirates.
BOOM!
An explosion echoed nearby.
"Ugh, all because of that damn Roger. Why did he have to say that before dying? Now every fool with a dinghy thinks they're the next Pirate King!"
Deidara sighed as he sat beside Robert.
The Marine troubles were nothing compared to what the Three Great Pirate Crews in the New World were facing.
After the first wave of pirates set sail, reaching the New World emboldened by the belief that there were no Marines to stop them…
They lost their minds.
Pillaging, burning, slaughtering.
No territory was spared — not Whitebeard's, not Big Mom's, and not even Rockefeller Charlotte's.
Initially, the three great pirate groups were fighting each other over the vacated lands of Roger and the Flying Pirates.
But then they looked back—
Their own turf was gone.
Everywhere was in flames.
The Three Emperors' forces were forced to retreat from expansion and rush home to defend their bases.
And once the purging began—
It never ended.
The Rockefeller Pirates deployed everyone.
Their flags flew across the scattered islands of the New World.
But even then—it was like pouring a cup of water on a forest fire.
Pirates kept coming from all four seas and the first half of the Grand Line, wave after wave.
Their swords were bloody. Their hands numb. But it didn't stop.
---
"Next island's up. Let's get some rest on the ship," Robert said, reading his next mission.
Deidara groaned and followed.
---
On Kamei Island
"How many islands have we lost contact with?"
Charlotte asked as he skimmed through a stack of urgent reports.
Carter responded with a grim face.
"Captain… pirates looking for Roger's treasure are flooding every corner of the New World. Even if we wipe out one batch, another arrives the next day. We can't kill them all."
Charlotte sighed.
"Are the other two Emperors in the same situation?"
"Yes. Whitebeard's territory is the largest, so he's suffered the most. Big Mom's losses are about equal to ours."
Charlotte looked up at the ceiling and muttered,
"That Roger… couldn't even die peacefully."
He always thought the Marines would suffer the most in this era.
But now?
They were the ones in hell.
An endless war.
And Charlotte knew—
This chaos would likely last until Year 1504 of the Sea Circle Calendar.
That was when the Three Emperors structure would be truly cemented and the New World stabilized.
But now… it was still 1498.
Six more years.
Six years of nonstop fighting.
He exhaled and made a decision.
"Send the order: Everyone must prepare for a long-term war."

Appointments:
Esdeath, Commander of the 1st Division — authorized to recruit freely. Responsible for the first half of the New World.
Caesar, Commander of the 2nd Division — authorized to recruit freely. Oversees the Wano Country region.
Tesla, Commander of the 3rd Division — authorized to recruit freely. Responsible for central New World territories.
Charlotte turned to the three.
"Understood!"
They answered in unison.
He then looked to his trusted veterans: Carter, Ralph, Paul, Isaac.
"Your positions will change. I'm not forgetting your service."
They stood tall with pride.
Carter — remains stationed at Kamei Island, securing its stability.
Ralph — deployed to Wano.
Paul — guards Scar Island, which lies between the back half and center of the New World.
Isaac — guards Kark Island, between the front half and the center of the New World.
"You four will be the anchor points of our base network," Charlotte declared.
"Understood!"
They saluted.
With Carter and the others holding critical islands and Esdeath's rapid-response teams able to strike anywhere—
Any invading pirate would be swiftly identified and eliminated.
---
As for Barrett—
"Barrett, you and I will push into the front half of the New World. Let's take territory before someone else does."
Charlotte smiled coldly.
Better to claim it now than let some upstart get it first.
Even if it was risky—he wasn't afraid.
"Understood!"
Barrett's voice was firm.
---
With the Rockefeller Pirates rapidly adapting and mobilizing,
The tides of chaos began to shift.
Charlotte's many children joined their elder siblings in battle after battle,
Crushing the arrogance of the ignorant pirates that dared to invade.
