The cabin was warm, filled with the scent of burning wood and lingering smoke from the lanterns. Outside, the wind howled through the trees, but inside, the only thing David cared about was the heat of the man beside him.
Liam was still sprawled across the bed, half-buried in their shared blankets, his body loose and pliant with sleep. David took his time, running a slow hand down Liam's exposed spine, tracing the dips and curves he knew so well.
Liam shivered under his touch but didn't open his eyes. "You keep touching me like that, and we're never getting out of bed," he murmured, voice thick with sleep.
David smirked, pressing a kiss to the nape of his neck. "Maybe I don't want to."
Liam stretched like a satisfied cat, arching into David's touch. "Now you're speaking my language."
David chuckled, flipping Liam onto his back and caging him beneath him. "We do have things to do today, you know."
Liam huffed. "And whose fault is it that we postponed our little meeting?"
David's fingers ghosted over Liam's waist, making him squirm. "Mine. And I have no regrets."
Liam's lips curved into a slow, lazy smile, his arms winding around David's neck. "Then you better make it worth my while."
David's eyes darkened. "Oh, I intend to."
And for the next few hours, the rest of the world ceased to exist.
