The next few days were pretty uneventful, though both Katsumi and Mina of all people kept trying to 'cheer' me up, Katsumi as usual kept being direct or would do her best to be subtle which still involved yelling, Mina on the other hand was much more methodical using different foods and things to try and get me to open up, I ate the food but never answered any questions the little pink alien threw my way.
The only thing remotely interesting was during yesterday's strength training where a few were complaining about having to lift so much weight, Mineta and Kaminari were unsurprisingly spearheading this. Of course Katsumi and Kirishima told them to 'man up' while Izuku and Ochako tried to convince them using logic, eventually Aizawa noticed they weren't doing anything and came over to investigate. Hearing their whining he called out to me snapping me out of focus, "What, I'm doing the work?" I asked even though I knew what he wanted, "Flex your wings real quick for me." Aizawa said and I obliged spreading my wings to their full albeit reduced size. Seeing he had their attention Aizawa pointed to the visible muscles on my wings "Despite being one of the least used part of his body, his wings have more muscle than all of you, until you look like Carter's wings get back to training."
"Why'd you use his wings and not his arms?" Kirishima asked and I set the dumbbell down and flexed, 'holy shit!' their minds went as Kirishima and Kaminari voiced their astonishment aloud, "That answers your question?" I asked with a smirk and they nodded, satisfied I went back to my workout though I felt several pairs of eyes glance at me from time to time, though a specific pair did a lot more staring than glancing.
Snapping out of my thoughts I looked at the three upperclassmen that Aizawa had brought with him today and noticed that I knew one of them, right before she flung herself at me. "CARTER!! Omg it's so good to see you again! How have you been? What's your training like? Do you have any new forms? do you-" as Nejire went ballistic I saw smoke coming out of a few peoples heads trying to keep up though Katsumi looked angry for another reason. "Nejire please come back to the front, we have actual things to do instead of gossip." Aizawa said, sounding tired already as she bounces back over to her friends.
"Everyone, since you guys have proven time and time again how adept you are at handling villains and other things that you shouldn't be exposed to, the principal has decided that you will be allowed to take part in the hero works studies program." Aizawa said as he gestured to Nejire and the two guys with her, "These three are here to explain more about that as they have completed two years of the program." signaling to them they stepped forward to introduce themselves.
"Greetings, my name is Mirio Togata!" said a tall blonde with a cheerful smile on his face as Nejire introduced herself than sprang around the room asking everyone questions like Izuku on crack, she tried to circle back to me but I swatted her away with my tail as the last one of the trio took one look at us then turned around and faced the wall, "Too many people looking at me, don't wanna talk." he mumbled as Nejire landed next to him, " This is Tamaki Amajiki and he's really strong!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down as several eyes followed her every move.
"Can you three please hurry up and get to the point of why you're here." Aizawa grumbles as they calm down and Mirio steps forward. "I'm really bad at explaining things so instead of telling you about it I'm going to show you. I challenge everyone here who got their provisional hero license to a fight!" he declared as Aizawa facepalmed, regardless everyone put their gym uniforms on and made their way to gym gamma.
Once we reached the gym Amajiki mumbled "Don't break their spirit Mirio." under his breath though I heard it, seeing the others follow Mirio, Nejire looks at me and tilts her head, "Why aren't you following them?" she asks "Because then it wouldn't be fair for Mirio." I say and she nods though Amajiki looks unconvinced. As everyone got to their spots Aizawa chose that moment to speak up "Oh by the way, these guys are known as the Big Three, in all of UA only they are the closest to being pro heroes." he said with a smirk as Mirio beamed at the students before him before his clothes promptly fell off.
"AHH!" a few girls yelled shielding their eyes as Mirio apologizes and picked up his clothes before sinking into the ground, "Hey where'd he go?!" Kaminari asked before Mirio blasted out of the ground with a sick uppercut that knocked him out. What followed was utter chaos, Mirio would sink in and out of the earth landing devastating hits as the class scrambled to mount a defense, even when Izuku and Kirishima managed to land a hit on him, it would just go right through him like he wasn't even there, despite their best efforts Mirio smashed through their ranged units before blitzing through them rest, he stopped in front of me and the others still standing and struck a pose "POWER!!" as the rest of the class moaned in defeat on the ground behind him.
'He could be a threat to future endeavors.' the voice whispered as I congratulated Mirio on his victory while Aizawa explained that Mirio wasn't always this strong but his experience during the hero work studies helped him reach this point, with Mirio giving his testimony on how he struggle to get there. I didn't hear any of this however as I focused on a pair of eyes watching me in the distance, looking in their general direction I saw nothing but felt the gaze regardless but it soon withdrew and I came too just as the class managed to pick themselves up off the ground. "Hey why didn't you fight him?" Mineta complained as I shrugged "I would've won." I said simply before walking back to class.
Come lunch time I sat with my usual group, Katsumi and Kirishima on either side of me, with Sero, Kaminari in front of me and Katsumi, normally there was an empty seat but today Mina had decided to join us and was sitting across from Kirishima who kept glancing at her. As we ate I listened as they talked about who they would pick for their work study, I had already decided to go back to Ryukyu as I was already familiar with her and how she operated, plus she let me fly around and transform as I wished. Zoning out I snapped too when Mina spoke to me, "So at a table full of guys, why's the murder queen next to you Carter?" she asked while wiggling her eyebrows at me, "None of your damn business." Katsumi growled as I snorted "To keep me from murdering these idiots when they get too loud." I told her as she smiled "Suuureee." I was half tempted to burn her to ash for even suggesting that but Kirishima must have noticed the look I was giving Mina as he quickly changed the topic.
"So what did you guys think of the Big Three? I thought that Mirio guy was super manly!" he said as Sero agreed "Yeah it's a shame we didn't get to see the other two in action but after what Mirio did, I don't think I wanna fight them just yet." he said as they all shivered remembering how Mirio showed no remorse when fighting. "That Nejire girl was cute though." Kaminari said as he looked at me "She knew you by name, what's up with that?" he said as Katsumi's eyes snapped to me. "She was with Ryukyu during my internship and I got to know her, she's not that bad when she actually slows down to talk." I said as they nodded and kept talking thought Katsumi stared at me a bit longer before turning around and yelling at Izuku to stop mumbling.
