Fiona took a slow breath as the glowing ruins around her started to shift.
Her visor flickered with ambient noise, picking up distant vibrations.
Heavy. Uneven. Getting closer.
Fiona straightened, her voice live to the audience once again.
"Chat…" she said, her tone sharpening.
"It seems we've got… company."
She slowly turned toward the sound.
The cracked highway ahead of her split open, metal rebar groaning under pressure.
Through the smoke marched a mountain of scales and molten steam.
Its shell glowed like black lava rock, every step cracking the ground beneath it.

And beside it, crawling through the wreckage like a savage nightmare, came something even worse.
Long arms dragging the floor.
Misshapen fangs spread in a crooked smile.
Mutated muscles twitched under stretched skin and armor plating.
A dripping tail lashed side to side.
Gorevile.
