Yagyuu Ittou's strength was actually quite average, being merely a First Rank life proficient in sword skills, but his Heart Eye talent was abnormally powerful. He could easily spot an enemy's weaknesses and launch fatal attacks while excelling in counterattacks. Previously, he had nearly forced Brian to reveal all his abilities.
As for the Body Activation, it was some sort of recovery ability.
Yagyuu Ittou had originally died at the hands of Brian, but Brian later discovered that after returning to the hotel, he had come back to life and wasn't really dead. It was only because he had lost his handy weapon that Shinnozuke, along with his sword, had managed to cut him down.
