"A-Above… above…"
Cough.
Cough.
Mu Tianlei's expression darkened.
He stepped forward, lightning roaring in his palm.
"Whoever you are—come down!"
He flung a thunderbolt toward the top of the beast in a flash of rage.
It was, in hindsight, the single worst decision of his life.
Because atop the crane, Su Xiaobai sat.
Already annoyed—as if he'd awoken to the face of a pig.
The moment he saw the lightning coming, his eyes narrowed.
With a flick of his fingers, the crane's wings snapped open—BOOM!
A bolt even stronger than Mu Tianlei's erupted downward.
Zap.
The two strikes collided mid-air, shattered into dust—and Mu Tianlei was sent stumbling backward, robes scorched at the edges, heart pounding like war drums.
He met the crane's eyes.
And they were laughing.
"Hmph," a voice called down lazily. "Come up, if you dare. I'm not moving."
Su Xiaobai, that voice hadn't changed.
