Chapter 179 - Another Encounter with the Veiled Woman

"Spirit Hall's Special Training Program?"

After listening to Ye Tian's explanation, Gui Mei stroked his chin and said,

"This program is indeed overseen by a Spirit Doulou named Shi Fei."

"However, two months ago, the trainees were sent to the outskirts of the Star Dou Forest for real combat training and to obtain spirit rings."

"They are currently not in Spirit City."

Upon hearing this, Ye Tian felt a bit disappointed and asked,

"Elder Gui Mei, can you tell me their exact location?"

Gui Mei understood Ye Tian's eagerness to find his sister.

He walked over to his desk, pulled open a drawer, and took out a map of the Star Dou Forest.

Handing it to Ye Tian, he said,

"The training areas for the special training program are fixed."

"Follow this map, and you won't go wrong."

"However, many of the locations marked on this map are confidential to Spirit Hall."

"You must be careful not to let it fall into the wrong hands."

Ye Tian chuckled at this and reassured him,

"Please rest assured, Elder Gui Mei. I'm not someone careless enough to lose it."

After giving Ye Tian the map, Gui Mei brought up another matter.

"Why hasn't His Holiness the Pope returned with you?"

At this, Ye Tian's expression turned serious.

"The plan for Spirit Hall's plaza was leaked to the Elder Hall."

"The Elder Hall has already begun spreading the plan across various cities."

"His Holiness the Pope is currently in the capital of the Balak Kingdom, competing with Qian Jun Douluo over this matter."

Gui Mei was stunned for a moment before slamming his fist onto the desk, his eyes burning with anger.

"The Elder Hall is truly despicable!"

Now that Ye Tian knew his sister's whereabouts, he no longer wished to stay in the Pope's Hall.

He bowed to Gui Mei and said,

"Elder Gui Mei, I must go retrieve my sister. I'll take my leave now."

"Are you going alone?" Gui Mei asked with some concern.

But then he noticed the Sea Witch and Xiao Bai waiting for Ye Tian at the door.

He chuckled awkwardly,

"Seems like you're well-prepared."

After all, even if the Pope's Hall assigned Ye Tian bodyguards, they wouldn't send Titled Douluo to accompany him.

As Ye Tian turned to leave, he suddenly thought of something and paused.

Facing Gui Mei again, he smiled and said,

"Before I go, I'd like to ask Elder Gui Mei for an official permit."

"I want to visit Spirit Hall's library and search for information on a certain spirit beast."

Since he was heading to the Star Dou Forest, he might as well gather the materials needed to refine the Clear Soul Saint Pill.

That way, he could expel the Sea God's inheritance mark from his forehead.

Hearing this, Gui Mei burst into laughter.

"If you're looking for a spirit beast, you don't need to visit the library. Just find my subordinate, Shi Fei."

"The library holds a vast collection of books. It would take months to find what you need."

"But Shi Fei, who is in charge of the special training program, is practically an encyclopedia on spirit beasts."

"If a spirit beast exists in the Star Dou Forest, he'll know about it."

"This is why he was chosen to lead the special training program."

"If even Shi Fei doesn't know about it, then that spirit beast probably doesn't exist."

Ye Tian nodded thoughtfully.

He had overlooked the fact that the Spirit Hall's library didn't have an index system like in his previous life, making it difficult to locate specific books.

If he were to search the library himself, he might not accomplish anything even after months of effort.

Fortunately, Gui Mei recommended someone who could help.

And it happened to be on his way.

Now that he had a clear destination, Ye Tian could consult Shi Fei after finding his sister.

While he was thinking, Gui Mei had already written and sealed a letter, handing it to Ye Tian.

He smiled and said,

"Shi Fei is very respectful towards me."

"With my recommendation, he will help you."

"Thank you, Elder Gui Mei." Ye Tian took the letter and bowed once more.

Leaving the Pope's Hall,

Ye Tian turned to the two and said with a smile,

"We can't stay in Spirit City any longer. Let's head straight to the Star Dou Forest."

"Doesn't matter to me," the Sea Witch shrugged.

Xiao Bai, however, had a look of anticipation in her eyes.

"The Spring of Life in the Star Dou Forest… can it really allow me to stay on land permanently?"

"Of course it can," Ye Tian replied with a confident smile.

"That's amazing!" Xiao Bai beamed, then looked at Ye Tian hesitantly.

"Would you… accompany me there?"

"Of course," Ye Tian grinned.

"Xiao Bai, you're always so reserved."

Hearing this, Xiao Bai fell silent.

It wasn't shyness.

As a Devil Spirit Great White Shark, she simply wasn't used to speaking human language often.

After finalizing their plans, the three of them wasted no time and left the city,

heading towards the Black Triangle, a location in the Star Dou Forest marked on Gui Mei's map.

They rode on horseback for a while when suddenly, the Sea Witch's expression turned sharp.

In a low voice, she said,

"Someone is following us."

Ye Tian frowned slightly.

He had tried his best to keep a low profile.

The jade token that Bibi Dong gave him had only been shown once—at the entrance of the Pope's Hall.

Yet, someone had still taken notice of him.

Ye Tian immediately pulled the reins, bringing his horse to a stop.

He spoke in a loud voice.

"No need to hide, stranger. If you have business, show yourself."

The moment he finished speaking,

a soft chuckle echoed from the left front side.

"You really are sharp, Ye Tian."

A swarm of bats suddenly appeared, turning into a mist before coalescing into the form of a veiled woman.

"The Veiled Woman?"

Ye Tian's brows furrowed.

The last time they met, she had attacked him at a villa.

Back then, she had said she would return for him.

And now, here she was.

Ye Tian sneered,

"You've got some nerve showing up again."

"Why wouldn't I?"

The Veiled Woman chuckled.

"But just so you know, I do have a name—Xuan Miaoyin."

"Oh." Ye Tian responded flatly.

Xuan Miaoyin didn't seem to mind.

Underneath her veil, her eyes gleamed mischievously as she asked,

"Aren't you curious how I found you?"

"I am," Ye Tian admitted.

Only his most trusted subordinates, Chen Jian and the others, knew about his departure.

He even used a decoy soldier to mislead any prying eyes.

Yet, Xuan Miaoyin had managed to track him down.

"Would you believe me if I said it was pure coincidence?"

Xuan Miaoyin covered her mouth as she laughed.

She continued,

"To be honest, I didn't even know you came to Spirit City."

"I was sent here on the orders of the King of Slaughter."

"I have fallen out of favor with him, so he sent me to Spirit City for a mission—to assassinate Spirit Hall's Holy Maiden."

"Running into you here is purely a coincidence."

Ye Tian's expression darkened.

"You're planning to assassinate my wife?"

He smirked coldly, his eyes filled with amusement and menace.

"Tell me, do you really think you can walk away alive?"
