Kurenai looked him into the eye as she pulled him into a Genjutsu. A not so lethal Genjutsu technique which only immobilized him, nothing much.
'I am stuck? Bound?'
'It feels hard to move as if my body is indeed being held by a tree.'
'But this makes me aware that it's a Genjutsu. Now, I should try leaving.'
'Release!!'
"Ohh, it's easy."
As soon as Reko decided that he wanted to use Genjutsu release, his body followed his will and spiked his chakra, pulling him out of the Genjutsu.
"Again.."
Kurenai looked at Reko who requested to be put under a Genjutsu once again. She nodded, deciding to put more effort into her technique this time to give him a challenge.
"Not bad, again."
Unfortunately for Kurenai, Reko once again countered the Genjutsu and came out of it with ease. Though, he was slow but it was understandable because Reko was taking his time to explore and familiarise with the technique.
Once again, she decided to use a good chunk of her chakra to put Reko into a Genjutsu.
'The training is done and my students are all working on their own. They don't need my assistance. So, I don't have to spare my chakra.'
Confirming this, Kurenai decided to step up her game.
"Demonic illusion: Double false."
'What is this? It's not tree binding this time.'
Reko looked around. The surroundings were familiar. He recalled that he was in the same position but Kurenai was missing. It was only him in the surroundings.
'Release!!'
'It appears that my grueling training under Tsunade was not for waste. I can pretty much sense that something is off with my chakra when I am under a Genjutsu.'
Although very interesting, Reko was very easily able to break out of the illusion. His body instantly picked up the unfamiliar movements in his chakra pathway and alerted him.
"Do you have stronger ones? Breaking these were not an issue for me."
Reko looked at the dumbfounded Kurenai in front of him. She stood there, staring at him in amazement, more likely in shock.
'Was it too much for her?
I recall that she had been countered by Itachi a while back. Did my actions right now cause her confidence to shatter?'
Kurenai did not appear to be very happy at the moment. Her Genjutsu was being called weak and it really did appear to be so.
Reko, an amateur into Genjutsu, did not even need a few seconds to come out of her illusion. This indeed made her seem weak.
She was just letting Reko take it easy but it seemed that he really wanted to feel trapped.
'I will go all in.'
Kurenai formed hand signs with precision, deciding on a difficult illusion this time.

She felt her chakra connect with Reko's, the Genjutsu took effect.

Even though the technique appeared to be majestic when Reko experienced Kurenai's perspective, the effects were not really that good.
