"This kind of gasoline-powered saw is good. After purchasing it, have it shipped directly to the warehouse. Also, make sure to buy enough gasoline—enough to last 200 units for half a month," Jason Liu instructed, having already calculated the fuel consumption.
If each unit operates for six hours a day, it will consume about 1.65 liters of gasoline. With 200 units working for six hours a day over 15 days, the total consumption will be around 4,950 liters—roughly 3.6 tons of fuel.
To store this fuel efficiently, Jason planned to purchase two stainless steel storage tanks, each with a 5,000-liter capacity. One tank could be used while the other was being refilled. Once emptied, a tank would be sent back to modern times for refueling, and a full tank would be brought back to Westeros. This cycle would ensure a continuous fuel supply.
After finalizing these plans, Jason relayed his instructions to Oliver, the manager of the purchasing department. After careful consideration, Oliver found no major issues with the plan. Since the Ironwood Timber Co was listed as the buyer, the gas station would likely not question the purchase.
With everything settled, Jason left the execution to Oliver and his team. It was their job to figure out the details—after all, they weren't being paid well just to relax.
Once this was arranged, Jason reminded them to urge the Carriage Factory to expedite the delivery of the first batch—15 large carriages and 30 small ones. With that done, he turned off his phone and returned to Westeros.
Back at the store, Jason learned from Lena and the others that Winterfell was purchasing a large quantity of food supplies—grain, vegetables, and fruit—along with ordering thousands of soaps, toothbrushes, and tubes of toothpaste from their store.
There were enough toothbrushes and toothpaste in stock, but soap had run out. Jason assured them that new stock would arrive soon and instructed Barron and the others to transport the newly arrived goods to the warehouse.
The thousands of soaps ordered by Winterfell were promptly delivered to the castle.
Jason speculated that Eddard Stark must have received a letter from King's Landing informing him of the King's impending visit with his entourage of several hundred people. That would explain the large-scale purchases—preparing to host the King and his company.
Knowing this, Jason made his own preparations. He planned to use the King's visit as an opportunity to have Robert Baratheon officially recognize his title as the Earl of Starfire City. With a royal decree confirming his status, dealing with other Westerosi nobles would become much easier.
Without that recognition, Jason knew that many highborn lords would not take him seriously or treat him as an equal.
At least he had gifts prepared for the royal family. As long as he could please them, getting the King's decree shouldn't be too difficult.
Turning to another matter, Jason summoned Kent, one of his more capable and sociable guards.
"Kent, go to Winterfell and find Henry the head of the stables. Tell him I want to buy another batch of horses and ask him to come here to discuss the details."
Kent, always eager for errands, quickly agreed and set off for Winterfell, which was less than a kilometer away from the store.
Jason needed more horses for multiple purposes. Some would be used for hauling logs at the lumber yard, and others would pull the four-wheeled freight carriages he had ordered from Carriage Factory.
Each of the 200 freight wagons would require two horses, meaning he needed 400 draft horses. Since some loads would be heavier, requiring four horses instead of two, he planned to purchase an extra 100 horses as reserves.
That brought the total number of draft horses to 500.
Additionally, he needed warhorses for his cavalry. Previously, he had bought 50 horses from the Stark family's horse farm outside Winterfell. Now, with plans to expand his forces, he intended to recruit 200 more cavalrymen, forming a full 100-man unit under the Easter family banner. Each cavalryman required two horses, so another 150 warhorses were needed.
He also considered the need for horses for his employees, such as Barron's 30-man solar lighting installation team and store workers, who often traveled between locations. To accommodate this, Jason decided to purchase another 200 warhorses.
In total, he planned to buy 500 draft horses and 200 warhorses.
Before long, Kent returned with the stable master, who was slightly out of breath from the hurried walk.
"Huff… Huff… Lord East!" Henry greeted, wiping the sweat from his forehead before bowing in respect.
"please sit down," Jason said, gesturing for him to take a seat. Since there was no rush, he wanted Henry to catch his breath before discussing business.
A little blonde-haired girl named Bella, wearing a clean red pleated dress, approached and poured juice for them. She was much healthier than when Jason had first taken her and her brother in. The once-thin, malnourished girl now had rosy cheeks and looked adorable with the hint of baby fat on her face.
stable master picked up the glass and took a sip. His eyes widened slightly at the sweet taste, and he immediately took another gulp. Fresh fruit was rare enough for common folk, and drinking juice like this was an unusual luxury.
Bella giggled softly as she saw him enjoying the drink and refilled his glass.
Realizing he had downed the juice so quickly, master chuckled awkwardly and glanced at Jason. "Ah, my apologies, Lord Jason… Your juice is just so sweet! This is my first time tasting something like this in decades."
Jason waved off the apology with a smile. "No need to apologize. If you like it, drink as much as you want. There's plenty left in the bottle."
stable master happily drank another glass before shifting his attention to business. "So, Lord Jason, how many horses are you looking to buy?"
"I need 500 draft horses for carriage-pulling and 200 warhorses. Would the Winterfell stables have that many available?" Jason asked.
master did a quick mental calculation before replying, "The horse farm outside Winterfell doesn't have that many at the moment, but I can arrange for 200 more horses to be transferred from other farms. That should meet your requirements."
Jason nodded in satisfaction. Everything was going according to plan.
