Whoosh~ Whoosh~
Before the two Mist Jōnin could approach, they hurled their kunai, aiming straight for Seimei's heart and throat.
However, for Seimei, such attacks were child's play.
With just a quick glance, he tracked the trajectory of the kunai and effortlessly intercepted them with his own kunai in a precise counter.
After neutralizing the threat, he turned to Junji Kobayashi and another Konoha Special Jōnin nearby. "Be careful!"
With that, he activated his "Flash Sword Technique," transforming into a streak of green light and dashing toward the two Mist Jōnin at lightning speed.
Junji Kobayashi and his comrades could only nod in acknowledgment, unable to spare the energy to assist.
They were already struggling against the surrounding Mist-nin. How could they divert their attention to deal with two attacking Mist Jōnin?
Their only option was to trust Seimei completely.
Fortunately, Seimei's track record had been solid over the past few battles.
Thus, the group wasn't overly worried about him being outmatched by the two Mist Jōnin.
This eased their burden somewhat.
After all, if Seimei were defeated, the Mist Jōnin could then turn their sights on them—that would be truly disastrous!
Unaware of the thoughts of his allies, Seimei had no interest in them either. His sole consideration now was how much time it would take to defeat the two Mist Jōnin.
This wasn't arrogance; it was simply a fact. Two Jōnin alone posed no real challenge to him.
Even if one of them was a member of the Kaguya Clan, they still wouldn't be a match for him.
Without exerting his full strength, merely using the level of power he displayed during the attack on Yujin Harbor would suffice to defeat them.
Still, he couldn't afford to be too blatant about holding back.
Judging by their behavior, it seemed the two Mist Jōnin weren't planning to fight to the death either.
This mutual understanding suited Seimei perfectly.
"Maybe I can use this opportunity to grind some skill proficiency," Seimei thought, remembering that he hadn't completed his training plan for the day. He couldn't let this chance go to waste!
Such thoughts flashed through his mind as he closed the distance in an instant. Standing before the Kaguya Jōnin, he swung his longsword.
Clang!
A crisp metallic sound rang out as the blade collided with the dense bone spikes protruding from the Kaguya Jōnin's arm, sparking upon impact but causing no harm.
"Heh..."
The Kaguya Jōnin sneered and activated the Shikotsumyaku (Dead Bone Pulse), causing more bone spikes to erupt from his body.
Looking like a human porcupine, he launched a series of Taijutsu techniques unique to the Kaguya Clan, attacking Seimei relentlessly.
Seimei nimbly evaded any potentially injurious strikes, his Sharingan spinning furiously to capture and anticipate every move. He engaged in a back-and-forth struggle with the Kaguya Jōnin.
Meanwhile, the second Mist Jōnin kept a distance, circling the battlefield to seize any opportunity for a ranged attack—whether by throwing tools or casting Ninjutsu.
Their strategy was clear: coordinate with the Kaguya Jōnin to prevent Seimei from interfering with the other Mist-nin on the battlefield.
This arrangement suited Seimei just fine.
Using the battle as a training ground, he seized the chance to frantically grind proficiency in various techniques.
Seconds turned into minutes as the fight raged on, appearing intense but with both sides holding back to some extent.
Well, Seimei was holding back a lot.
Even so, as time passed, the two Mist Jōnin began to falter.
No matter how much either side paced themselves, a battle between Jōnin consumed significant chakra and stamina.
It was clear the Mist Jōnin couldn't outlast Seimei.
Of course, this was partly due to Seimei replenishing his chakra reserves before the fight by absorbing it from several Mist-nin using his Shadow Clones.
If he had started with only a quarter of his chakra, he might not have been able to outlast the two opponents.
Just as Seimei prepared to get serious and finish the fight, reinforcements arrived—two Mist Special Jōnin joined the fray, alleviating the pressure on their comrades.
Reluctantly, Seimei decided to extend the "game" a little longer.
As the sun set and the moon rose, hours passed, and night fell.
A massive firework burst into the sky over Yujin Harbor, signaling the Mist forces to retreat.
By this point, Seimei was facing the third wave of opponents, who also received the retreat order and began withdrawing.
Seimei considered pursuing them to replenish his chakra but glanced at the distant group of Mist Jōnin seemingly regrouping.
In the end, he decided against it.
Over the past hours, he had already killed one Mist Jōnin and a Special Jōnin, seriously injuring two others. That was a solid enough performance, with no need to overextend.
Better to use the time to process the gains from his Shadow Clones' efforts.
With this in mind, Seimei let the remaining Mist Jōnin retreat without further action.
Returning to the temporary base, he assessed the unit's casualties and issued routine orders before finding a quiet corner to himself.
He raised his hand and released the Shadow Clone Technique.
In an instant, three Shadow Clones dispersed, and a surge of training experience and memories flooded into Seimei's mind.
Even with a mental attribute of 20 points, allowing him to multitask effortlessly, the sudden influx left his head throbbing.
Pressing his temples, Seimei endured the discomfort and began processing the training results.
Roughly estimated, the three Shadow Clones had absorbed a total of 250,000 points of chakra, all invested into improving techniques such as Water Release: Wild Water Wave, Water Release: Water Formation Pillar, Wind Release: Gale Palm, Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall, and Lightning Release: Thunder Strike.
Though he had other skills to work on, techniques like Fire Release: Dragon Flame Jutsu and Water Release: Water Severing Wave were too conspicuous to use in front of others.
Similarly, techniques like Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu and Chakra Cloak were too closely tied to Seimei himself and could draw unnecessary attention if his clones used them.
As for Lightning Release: Lightning Body Flicker, it required a physical body for activation, rendering it unsuitable for Shadow Clones.
Thus, the clones focused on simpler, more common techniques.
Even these, once leveled up, would significantly enhance Seimei's combat versatility and facilitate the development of new skills.
All in all, the effort was well worth it.
