Chapter 39 - (NEW!) Serena Snape: Love of Magic - chapter 19

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

"Let's cut to the chase and tell us what you want, Miss Snape." Dumbledore sighed, and I laughed amusedly.

"Now, Headmaster, why would I want anything from them? Maybe I just want to ruin their lives like they did mine." My smile was more sadistic now. Lupin's father cleared his throat.

"I deeply apologize for everything my son and his friends did to you, Miss, and I assure you that we will make it up to you."

"Leave the compensation to us, Mr. Lupin. We will take care of it." interrupted Mr. Potter. Lupin's father nodded after considering it.

"Dad?!" James asked in shock but was only glared at by his parents.

"As I was saying, it's horrible what they did to you, but to ruin my son's life completely? Can I ask you to be more reasonable? " Mr. Lupin pleaded, snorting mockingly.

"Dumbledore had no qualms about threatening to expel me last year if I told anyone that Lupin was a werewolf. They would have broken my wand, and I wouldn't have been able to take my OWLs, so why should I care?" I replied mockingly.

"Albus, you did what?!" Surprisingly, the mortified cry was from McGonagall. I saw Dumbledore grimace. What a surprise! I thought she would be on the side of the Gryffindors.

"And it was a mistake. I was thinking about young Lupin's safety, and since no one was hurt, I didn't think the harm was that bad," he said affably. I rolled my eyes.

"Of course, a Slytherin almost dying wasn't 'that bad.' My life doesn't matter enough when compared to a Gryffindor being expelled, even if he deserved it." I scoffed. Dumbledore sighed.

"Miss Snape, I never meant to imply such a thing, I apologize -"

"And I don't accept your apology, let's continue." I rolled my eyes, I could see Dumbledore's expression twitch almost imperceptibly. "Even without the murder attempt, they made sure to ruin my future, so I don't really feel charitable towards them."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Potter asked with a frown.

"In case you must know, I'm being sponsored by Lucius Malfoy," I began, and they nodded; it was a huge deal to be sponsored by a major house. Sponsored people were basically wards of the house and were members of them in all but name.

"We already know you're hanging out with that snake Snape, so what?" Black growled, I rolled my eyes.

"So, as you might imagine, Lucius took care of many things on my behalf; last year, he started with my marriage prospects." - that's what it seemed to most everyone except the adult Potters - and Mr. Lupin. "He found a few potential suitors, who, because of them-" I pointed contemptuously at the trio of boys. "-all called off negotiations." Black snorted.

"You can't blame us for that, Snape. It's not my fault that no one finds you attractive enough to want to be with you.." He smiled mockingly.

"Sirius!!" Mrs. Potter's shout made him jump.

"Leaving aside that you tried to flirt with me this summer." I rolled my eyes; Black turned pale and stammered, "I meant when they stripped me in public!" I hissed with hatred now. I couldn't help it. The memory only made me furious and indignant. I could hear the gasps of the adults. "Not only did they attack me from behind when I was unprotected, but they held me in the air before they took off all my clothes! I was left in only my panties. Not one person wanted to go through with the engagement when their future fiancée was displayed in public in such a humiliating way!!" I gritted my teeth, and I could feel the magic of Baiser Magia wanting to surge forth. So I crushed it down hard, I couldn't transform at the moment, but I was sure the stars in my eyes shone brightly.

"Is that true?" Mrs. Potter was unusually still, expressionless.

"What?! No!!" Potter tried to say but squirmed under his mother's gaze. "Well, yes! So what?! It was a joke -"

*slap* my eyes opened wide when Potter's mother slapped him hard. I didn't see that coming, and I wasn't the only one. Everyone looked at the woman in shock.

"W-what-?" Potter looked stunned but was ignored by his mother, who walked over to me and bowed deeply.

"On behalf of House Potter, I deeply apologize for any actions and harm my son has caused you, I will make sure to speak with your sponsor to repair any damage he has caused. We will give you more than fair compensation." I looked at her in disbelief; she had not gotten up from her bowed position.

"Mom?!" Potter looked confused and hurt as if someone had slapped his puppy.

"Shut up, James, just- shut up." she didn't look at him, but she sounded deeply disappointed. Potter's hurt look indicated that he noticed it, too. I looked at Mrs. Potter, still bent over. I ran my hand through my hair, annoyed.

"tch, this isn't fun anymore. Get up." I told the woman reluctantly.

"Thank you," Mrs. Potter stood as she returned to her husband's side, neither of them looking at their son.

"How am I only finding out about this now?!" McGonagall asked angrily, I rolled my eyes.

"Ask Lupin. You made him a prefect, and he just stood back doing nothing, like always, letting his friends get away with it." I snorted. McGonagall looked betrayed.

"Remus?" Mrs. Lupin asked, almost losing her temper, looking at her son pleadingly. Lupin seemed to burst into tears but looked away from his mother. The woman began to cry and approached her husband, "Let's go," she cried shakily, not even looking at me.

"Evans was there too! Why do you think Snivellus didn't say anything?! Oh yeah, I remember now, why did you call her a Mudblood! " Black defended quickly, another wave of gasps.

"Sirius!" Potter hissed to silence him.

"And whose fault is that?!" I hissed angrily. "I felt humiliated, ashamed, angry, and betrayed!"

"Betrayed?! By whom, you were the first to insult Evans."

"Then tell me, Black." I hissed hatefully. "Tell me how you all learned my spells! You used Levicorpus against me! I invented it Black! And I only taught it to one person, Lily! So tell me! How did you and your group know how to use it? Did you spy on me?! Did you spy on Lily?! Or did Lily teach it to you!?" My hisses turned into screams as I stood up. The group looked away. "Answer me, Black!!" I yelled, Black gritted his teeth.

"We followed you, Snivellus! We saw you take her to a room alone, but we don't trust you. Of course, we followed you!! " I wrinkled my nose and picked my cigarette back up, calming down once again.

"So they stole my creations and dared to make them public. Do you think I didn't notice that all the students now seem to know my spells? They even dared to use them against me. You are despicable Black."

"So what?! They're just stupid spells. It's not that big of a deal!" Black growled.

"Oh, Sirius, didn't we teach you anything?" Mr. Potter asked as he rubbed his temple. He looked like he had a headache, and he should. Stealing personal spells from a person or family was a serious matter. "Miss Snape, I dis -"

"Save it, I don't care." I raised my hand in his direction as I sat back down, not caring if I was being rude. "It doesn't matter anymore, Evans doesn't matter."

"Yeah, right. We watched you hang around Lily for years, and you think we'd believe you just gave up on her?" Potter growled, and I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, at the moment of insulting her, I realized I was wrong, but for months I tried to apologize. She did not want to listen to it. I understood the message. I have enough self-respect not to continue humiliating myself for someone who does not even listen to my version of the story. I will always treasure the friendship with Lily that I had, but only that, and no more." I took out another cigarette and lit it with a flame that came out of my thumb. I did not want to show my flame alchemy in front of them. "let's end this, it has lost all the fun."

"Is there something to talk about? I thought there was no chance of negotiating?" Mr. Potter asked suspiciously, I shrugged.

"I don't care anymore. I'll tell Lucius that I removed the bans for Lupin and Potter. It's still fun knowing that Lupin will have to drink something with my name on it for the rest of his life." I said mockingly. The group seemed to sigh in relief. "but-" I interrupted their joy. "-I want the mirrors and Potter's cloak."

"What? No!" Potter said quickly.

"Then you don't get the potions," I shrugged.

"You know about the cloak?" Mr. Potter asked with a frown, I snorted.

"I'm not stupid, sir. Your son has been making my life miserable these past 5 years. Do you think I wouldn't learn anything about him?" I said mockingly, "I know about your communication mirrors, the map, and the invisibility cloak. Of course, I know."

"Then you must know that it is not just a cloak but a Potter heirloom. It has been in our family for generations."

" And?" I shrugged. "The mirrors and the cloak for the potions. I'll even let any compensation they wanted to give me slide. As long as Potter and the others don't bother me anymore in the future, I won't do anything against them."

"Fine," Potter said suddenly, "if it's for Remus." Potter said, of course, he would. His inner Gryffindor wouldn't have it any other way.

"James, no." Lupin pleaded. Potter didn't listen. He pulled the cloak out of his pocket and threw it on the ground in my direction, then pulled out a mirror and threw it on top of it before elbowing Black. Black clicked his tongue but pulled the other mirror out and threw it on top of the cloak.

"James, are you sure?" his father asked seriously, Potter nodded determinedly.

"It's just a cloak and some mirrors." his father could only sigh tiredly.

"As you wish, they're yours." With that permission given, I immediately grabbed the mirrors and put them away before taking the cloak in my fingers. It felt almost like silk. I immediately folded it carelessly and tucked it inside my robes before tossing it into my inventory. I then took out a small box and set it on Dumbledore's desk, I tapped it three times with my wand, and it grew before opening. 10 Wolfbane potions appeared and everyone looked shocked.

"Thank you! Thank you! " Mrs. Lupin cried and immediately hugged her son, I shrugged and headed for the exit.

"If you don't trust me with those potions, you can buy them yourself. I'm leaving. Let's never repeat this." I growled reluctantly.

"Wait!" Mrs. Potter's voice stopped me as I was about to leave the office, I frowned.
