"Hi. Please, who am I speaking with?" Lizzy asked. A new number called her and she felt the need to ask the question immediately, so she answered the call.
"I'm calling from the station. We have him in custody, ma'am." A calm voice replied immediately, giving her the best news she heard that day.
"Alright, I will come over tomorrow. It's too late to get out now. Thank you for the job well done." She hung up immediately and danced around the room, knowing that she was getting closer to her ultimate goal.
She went downstairs to get some wine. She just lost her mum, but this news she got, was worth celebrating. She took a glass, poured the wine into it, and took calculated sips, remembering the calm voice that told her the good news she needed to hear.
Going upstairs, she heard her phone ring, and she rushed to the bed to check the caller.
"Hey, Mia. Are you good?" She realized they had not talked since she left, even though it had not been up to 24 hours.
