The words echoed silently in the prince's mind, his clenched jaw a testament to the fury that boiled just beneath his composed exterior. His royal blue robe fluttered with each gust from the explosions around, but his eyes remained locked onto the battlefield, a warzone now littered with the fallen remains of his once-proud army.
The prince, a royal of the underwater Persia Kingdom, had underestimated the humans. Gravely.
The very idea that his elite force would be pushed to such losses by surface dwellers gnawed at his pride. His failure would not go unnoticed. His kingdom did not tolerate weakness, especially not in a royal. No amount of justification could erase the fact that he, a royal, had failed to dominate land-dwellers with inferior physical and magical attributes.
He ground his teeth and raised his trident high.
"Bring me their heads!" he bellowed.
His Triton guards bowed without a word and descended like thunderbolts crashing from the sky.
