Because they couldn't sleep so early, they pushed on for a while longer, taking turns driving the car and occasionally getting out to stretch, which mitigated some of their fatigue.
Entering the city, there were sporadic lights here and there, but not many.
They rode their motorcycles, following the main road to the commercial district.
Upon arrival, with flashlights in hand, they went from shop to shop. There were restaurants, which, of course, couldn't possibly have any food left—they'd been searched over a hundred times already.
Then there were pharmacies, now also completely emptied out. People used to selectively take what was useful, but by now they had stripped the shelves nearly bare.
There were bath houses, mobile phone shops, real estate agents, clothing stores, bubble tea shops, bridal boutiques, and so on; basically, any essential goods were long gone.
