Arataki finally finished attaching the monitors to Ren. The bastard's vitals had stabilized—at least for now—and with some luck, maybe he wouldn't suffer any brain damage.
Or maybe he would. Arataki honestly didn't care.
"Hufffff... Killing people this way is exhausting," he muttered, tossing aside a bloodied cloth. "Should've just mutilated him from the start."
He pushed open the door to call for the others, only to find Old Futto squatting by the hallway wall, lazily puffing on a cigarette.
"Oh? You're done already?" Old Futto asked, standing up with a stretch.
"Nah. Where are Rin and Haruto?"
"Lunch," he said, shuddering. "Still can't believe they can eat after all that…"
"We didn't even get to the fun part yet," Arataki scoffed. "Text them to come back. I've got a tight schedule."
Old Futto nodded and pulled out his phone.
"Oh—and don't forget the dog," Arataki added with a smirk.
That alone made Futto pale as he started typing faster.
