The Lyselle estate buzzed with an energy that could only be described as chaotic. Helena had outdone herself, as usual, decorating the living room with elaborate floral arrangements, trays of hors d'oeuvres, and champagne chilling on ice though it remained unopened, as if to avoid jinxing the moment.
In the center of it all sat Elara, perched nervously on the edge of the couch, her phone clutched in a death grip. Her usual calm composure was replaced with visible tension, her knuckles white as she stared at the screen.
"Relax, you're going to snap that phone in half," Amara said, lounging nearby with her arms crossed. Her attempt at nonchalance was betrayed by the way her foot tapped incessantly against the floor.
"I can't relax," Elara hissed, barely sparing her a glance. "This is the biggest audition of my life!"
"And also the biggest overreaction," Amara quipped, earning her a sharp glare from Marisol, who was leaning against the armchair with a glass of water in hand.
