Chapter 199 - Chapter 201: Gentle Daddy Arturia... Yeah, Right!

Turning the mountain filming site in Fuyuki City into a Western European-style town wasn't all that difficult—or rather, it turned out to be much easier than anticipated.

Back when the Einzberns built their castle here for the Holy Grail War, they specially planted trees from their homeland all over the mountain to set up defensive barriers.

This is what you call being truly rich. Building a villa in the mountains? Child's play.

These guys built everything, from a castle to a forest, all on their own.

So, all Shinji had to do was construct the appropriate town setting deep in the mountains.

Of course, the trees here, due to differences in climate, looked a bit different compared to those in Western Europe.

But the audience weren't all botanists—how could they possibly tell?

Even if someone noticed, it wouldn't be a big deal. As long as you don't have any tropical coconut trees or similarly out-of-place plants, most viewers would turn a blind eye.

Naturally, the reason Shinji was able to set up the scenery so easily wasn't just due to the vegetation.

In truth, if not for his mastery of magecraft, which allowed him to use magical projections for long-distance backdrops, replicate props with magecraft, and enlist the help of strong and dexterous Heroic Spirits for setup, there's no way Shinji could've created a Western European town film set in Japan in such a short time, no matter how skilled he was.

"Still, it's really incredible to think that something as mysterious as magecraft could achieve this," Arturia marveled as she stood on the street of the small-town set, admiring the "Romanian" scenery.

She felt that saying Shinji built an entire city in just a few days wasn't even an exaggeration.

After all, she had just inspected some of the interior sets of the buildings herself.

From a modern perspective, these houses were overly simplistic, but for ordinary people of Arturia's time, they would've been paradise.

The only downside was their lack of resistance to extreme weather—but then again, these sets were only meant to be temporary.

"If you took your time and handled it carefully… Being able to achieve this in just a few days, even in this age of declining mystery, is amazing."

Arturia sighed. "If we'd used magecraft reasonably in my era, perhaps even more could have been accomplished. I was such a fool not to think of using magic for things like this."

Shinji chuckled and responded, "This is a blend of modern productivity and ancient magecraft. There's no way you could've managed it back in your time, Arturia."

"Besides, if you'd tried, some certain internet scammer would've overworked himself and just quit halfway, wouldn't he?"

Arturia shot Shinji a reproachful glance. "Master, don't slander Merlin like that. He's not as unreliable as you're making him sound."

(At that moment, a certain scammer cooped up in a tower sneezed.)

"Father..."

At this moment, a ponytailed girl dressed in the same T-shirt as Arturia—except hers was red—shyly approached.

"Hmm?" Arturia raised an eyebrow.

"King Arthur, Your Majesty!"

The girl shuddered and quickly corrected herself.

"What is it, Mordred?" Arturia's tone turned from warm to cold and stern.

Shuffling nervously, Mordred replied, "I've already finished cleaning your motorcycle—uh, the new Hengroen."

At this, she glanced pleadingly at Shinji, who could only shrug helplessly.

"Very well," Arturia commanded. "Next, go to the city and get me a sushi set from Asakusa-ya. And remember, run there."

"Yes, Father—um, Your Majesty."

As she watched Mordred's retreating figure, Shinji stroked his chin sympathetically.

"Arturia, don't you think you're being a bit too harsh on your child?"

"I'd love to be gentler, but you know what she's done, don't you?"

Shinji began ticking off on his fingers: "Taking your motorcycle for a joyride, buying your entire merch collection and filling her room with it, skipping class to secretly follow you during your day off, choosing the same outfits as you and swapping them every chance she gets… Eh, it's not that bad~"

"Not that bad?! That's outright criminal, Master!" Arturia angrily jabbed Shinji's cheek with the hilt of Excalibur.

"She's just expressing her admiration for you," Shinji explained. "If anything, the reason her love for you has turned out so twisted is probably your fault as a parent, right?"

"What? No way! I'm just trying to set her straight!"

"Otherwise, how would she tolerate your tyrannical indifference and harsh attitude?"

Shinji shrugged.

"For that child, your attitude is actually quite hurtful. Luckily, she's already used to it, so she doesn't resist too much. After all, you two have that father-child dynamic where you both keep stabbing each other."

"Alright, I know I haven't been perfect in some ways," Arturia nodded, then curiously asked, "But Master, why do you always speak up for that child? What benefit does she give you?"

There were indeed benefits, but Shinji wasn't about to tell Arturia.

So, Shinji smoothly changed the subject: "Arturia, aren't you worried that if this continues, Mordred might completely side with Alter?"

At the moment, Shinji had only summoned two of the Knights of the Round.

Lancelot was simply a fence-sitter—no matter what Arthur asked of him, he'd do it.

Mordred, however, was different. As a pure 24K Daddy's girl, she would only listen to the original father, Arturia.

"Only one sun in the sky, Father (Arturia) is the only sun in my heart, the black counterfeit can die!"

Those were Mordred's exact words.

"That being said, if you keep being cold to Mordred, Alter might just take advantage of the situation, you know~"

Shinji said with a mischievous grin.

Arturia immediately reacted with a sharp rebuttal: "Impossible, that tyrant—"

"But to that child, you're a tyrant too, right? What if Alter treats her a little better and she starts thinking the black version of Father loves her more..."

Shinji's suggestion made Arturia feel uneasy.

However, the strong-willed knight girl didn't let it get to her. She even reassured herself:

"That's impossible. No matter what, I'm still better than that black version."

"Is that so? Do you really think so?"

Shinji's smile turned sinister, his voice like a whisper from a devil.

"I... I..."

Arturia's inner resolve began to waver.

"I'll be gentler with that child, later on."

But Shinji didn't let up: "Later on and later on, so many laters to come."

"Master, I need psychological adjustment. It's strange to suddenly do something I'm not used to, right?"

Arturia showed a wary expression, recalling how Sakura tricked her last time with her "May illness" excuse.

Unfortunately, Arturia was too late to escape; she had already fallen into Shinji's trap.

"If you don't practice, you'll never improve. How about starting today?"

Shinji smirked smugly.

Arturia took a step back, frantically waving her hands: "I definitely can't do it today. I haven't mentally prepared yet..."

"No need for mental preparation, just feel it with your body."

Shinji rolled up his sleeves, revealing red tattoos on his arms. "I've just gained a new batch of Command Seals. I don't mind using two to improve your father-child relationship."

"Wait a minute, Master."

Arturia tried to resist, but it was too late.

The Command Seals on Shinji's body started glowing red.

"In the name of the Command Seals, Arturia, obey my command and be a gentle, good parent."

So, when Mordred returned to the set with the sushi takeout, what awaited her was a King of Knight with an extremely gentle smile—so gentle it was almost a forced grin.

"Father— Your Majesty, I'm back."

Mordred handed over the sushi box to Arturia.

"Mordred, you're back," Arturia said, her voice so sweet it gave her goosebumps.

'Master! Your day is numbered!'

However, Shinji didn't feel scared. Instead, he gave a thumbs-up.

"Good job, King of Knight!"

"Y-yes, I'm back..."

Mordred instinctively felt something was off, but she was still happy that her father was smiling at her.

'Could it be that Master's obedient child plan is finally working?'

"Hey, to thank a good child, you should pat their head."

Shinji whispered from behind Arturia.

"Master, that's for pets, right?"

Arturia gritted her teeth and retorted.

Although she was very reluctant, under the compulsion of the Command Seal, Arturia still patted her child's head.

"Mm-hmm, you're such a good child."

"Father actually patted my head~~"

Mordred was deeply moved, her eyes turning soft and animal-like.

"Next, smile and invite little Mordred to eat together."

"Come on, let's have lunch together."

"Really? Usually, Father— Your Majesty, you eat alone."

"Sometimes it's nice to have some father-child interaction, right?"

Arturia didn't want to say this, but the Command Seal forced her to barely show a smile.

At that moment, Arturia truly understood what it meant to be caught in her own web.

"Come on, Master. Take a picture for us, as a record of our growth."

Even though she was extremely unwilling, Arturia still followed Shinji's instructions and invited him.

"Here, a warm and harmonious father-child interaction, a record of the child's growth."

Shinji happily took on the task and began snapping photos rapidly.

Although they were eating together, in reality, Arturia and Mordred were eating separately.

Noticing this, Shinji grinned mischievously and said, "Come on, Arturia. Feed Mordred a sushi."

"F-feed— feed sushi?"

Arturia froze in place.

"Eh? Father, feeding me?!"

Mordred's face visibly turned the same color as her clothes.

"Go on, Arturia," Shinji gave a thumbs-up, "Remember to angle your left hand under the right hand holding the sushi at a 30-degree angle, then say 'Ah~ Mm~ Oh~', that's the perfect feeding technique."

"Master!!!!"

Arturia gritted her teeth, but had no choice but to follow Shinji's instructions and extend her hand toward Mordred.

"Here, Ah~ Mm~ Oh~"

"F-fatheraaaahhhhhh——!!"

Mordred, the bomb named Mordred, exploded.

Half an hour later—

Medusa—who finally escaped from her sister—saw Arturia and Mordred, they both are lying on the floor of the actors' rest area, with white towels on their foreheads.

"Ugh... gentle... this is gentle..."

"Father... Hee-hee... Father... Hahaha... Heh-heh hahaha..."

Medusa, facepalming, asked, "Shinji, what's going on with those two?"

"Arturia did something she wasn't used to, and put too much pressure on herself, so she fainted from exhaustion."

Shinji, who was admiring the photos, answered with a smile.

"And the other one?"

"Mordred? She got a high fever from being too excited from all the care and attention."

Looking at the muttering father and child, Medusa sighed deeply. "Master, playing around is fine, but know when to stop."

"Don't worry, it won't affect the filming," Shinji responded contentedly.

'So, you don't deny that you're playing around, right?!'
