Alexander's POV
I can feel him panicking. He is panicking, but when you look at him, you can't see it. It makes me wonder, how many times has it been that he had an internal panic attack but showed that he was fine to everyone all the time? I need to stay by his side more often to know when, because his face does not give a clue.
"Michael," the luna came with a nervous smile. She stood before us and looked at my hands on Michael's waist for a second, and then at our faces.
"I am not here to stay," Michael said. Straight to the point, I like it. The less time we spend here, the better.
"What do you mean?! You are not coming back!! Your parents said that you would be back soon, and the moment we felt you were here, we thought the same," an old woman said. It seems like she has been in the pack for a long time.
"My parents lied. I had clearly told them I don't want to come to a place that stole me of my innocence" Micheal took a deep breath before he continued "I hate this place and the only reason I have come here is to tell that never, I mean never expect me to set a foot in this place again" his voice turned cold and angry "I don't care whatever the hell happens in this pack but if I am contacted again by this pack, then I will be going to the council and tell them everything you guys have done to me" but we are going to the council anyways. Why is he hiding that fact?
"Michael, he was your mate-"
"HE WAS NEVER MY MATE!!" Everyone, including me, looked at him in surprise because I had never heard him scream.
"He was never my mate. I have been telling you guys this since he marked me! Since he claimed that he was my mate, even after he brought his mate to his pack, but no one listened to me because I was not of the age. But now, I am. I am way past my age, and I found my mate."
"The alpha beside you is your mate?!" a middle-aged man asked while looking me up and down. What's he judging me for? I should be the one judging him!
"Yes, he is my mate. My only mate"
"He is ten years younger than you, Michael!" his mother entered the crowd. I sighed and rolled eyes because she is a pain in ass without even being in my ass.
"So? At least it was not I who approached him. He approached me on his 20th birthday. I maintained my distance because he was young and not of age" Micheal said with a smirk "Isn't that the right thing to do? Never approach your mate if they are under the age? I didn't. You can ask the whole pack if you want" he was proud of this and so was I.
I always had felt some sort of pride in me when my pack members praised Micheal, now I know why. Because he is my mate. The head alpha's beta is what he is.
I couldn't control my urge to kiss and kissed him. I kissed him in front of his old pack on his lips. It was a small and quick kiss but it was a kiss.
"What was that for?!" he whispered to me.
"You were looking cute," I said cheekily and showed him a smile. He bit his lower lip to control from smiling.
"You are never coming back?" another middle-aged man asked with sad eyes. I looked at Michael to see if he was affected by the stares, but he was not, and this made me want to kiss him again, but I didn't. I held myself back this time
"No, so I would prefer if you guys leave me alone and accept the slutty luna and the dumb head alpha. I will be taking my leave," he looked at me and nodded.
I helped him get into the driver's seat, and after he was settled down in his seat with the door closed was when I went to the passenger side. I was about to open the door, but the mother stopped me. "You killed my son!"
I showed her the sweetest yet the nastiest smile I could muster. "I didn't. I brought him back alive. It was you who killed him," I entered the car seat and locked the door.
"What did she say?" Michael asked while he removed the car from the pack gates.
"Nothing important. Now, where are we going?"
"To the council. I should put an end to these things before another child is sacrificed."
