Chapter 542 - Chapter 544: Pokémon World Day Trip

[TL/N: Read my new work - Detective Conan: I'm a Succubus?!]

----

"It's done," Mewtwo announced as it stretched out its arms. A massive energy orb began to form—a familiar, terrifying Psybeam.

Chopper, witnessing the scene, felt tears stream down its face. Fear gripped the timid reindeer as it realized there was no escape.

Whoosh!

The Psybeam launched, heading straight for Chopper. Just as it seemed inevitable, a figure leapt in front of Chopper, extending a hand to summon a shimmering, transparent barrier.

Light Wall!

Boom!

The explosive force of the Psybeam collided with the Light Wall, the barrier holding strong against the devastating attack. Both Alexander and Chopper sighed in relief.

"Thankfully, Chopper's unharmed," Alexander muttered, shooting Mewtwo a reprimanding glance. "Chopper isn't like those two lunatics from before. If your attack had hit him, he'd be a goner."

"What?" Mewtwo blinked, genuinely startled. It turned to Chopper, confusion written across its face. "But didn't you say earlier—?"

"Well…" Chopper looked sheepish, scratching the back of its head. "That was just for appearances' sake. I'm a proud member of the Straw Hat Pirates! I can't just run away because I'm scared! I'm not Usopp, after all!"

As Chopper spoke, Gugalanna placed a comforting hoof on the small reindeer's shoulder. "That's the spirit, Chopper! Don't worry; I wasn't going to let you get hurt. I just wanted to see if you'd panic."

Alexander rolled his eyes, glaring at Gugalanna. "Are you serious? Decide whether you're stepping in or not next time! And by the way, how can you call that giant hoof of yours a 'hand'?"

---

Kurama finally staggered back, its fur ruffled and disheveled. Despite its disarray, it seemed unharmed.

"S-sorry about that," Mewtwo said awkwardly, lowering its gaze. "I didn't expect my attack to send you flying that far…"

Kurama waved off the apology, its pride still intact. "No need for that. I just wasn't ready. If I had been prepared, my Tailed Beast Bomb would've been way stronger than your Psybeam!"

"Is that so?" Mewtwo's eyes gleamed with interest. "Perhaps we should test that out someday."

'Cough cough.'

Kurama cleared its throat dramatically, striding up to Alexander. With a playful smirk, it patted Alexander on the shoulder. "Anyway, Mewtwo, let me introduce you to our boss—Alexander, the Creator."

"Creator?"

Mewtwo turned to Alexander, disbelief etched across its face. It stared at him silently, lost in thought. After a long pause, its expression shifted, and it murmured softly, "I see… so this is the answer."

Alexander frowned, confused by the sudden change in Mewtwo's demeanor. "Uh… aren't you going to ask me about the meaning of life?"

"No need," Mewtwo replied, a faint smile tugging at its lips. "I found the answer the moment I saw you."

"The moment you saw me?" Alexander repeated, baffled. "How am I supposed to have 'that' much power?"

Mewtwo chuckled. "Yes. You created this world and me. Without you, neither I nor humanity could exist. There's no need for further questions. Even Dream (Mew) will have to come to terms with this truth eventually. I can't wait to see its expression when it learns it was created by you. Hahaha!"

Alexander stared, speechless. "What kind of logic is that? You're just okay with being created because 'others' were too? What kind of bizarre reasoning is this?"

Still, Mewtwo seemed at peace, its previous doubts resolved. Alexander couldn't help but marvel at how inadvertently, he had untangled the psychic Pokémon's existential crisis.

---

"So, what are you planning to do next?" Alexander asked.

"I'm not sure," Mewtwo admitted. "I want to explore this world without Pokémon. At the same time, I want to return to the Pokémon world to create a new generation of Pokémon who can thrive here. But I'm uncertain if such a dream is possible."

"Bringing Pokémon to this world, huh? Be careful, though. There are plenty of people here, like Team Rocket, who'd exploit them."

"You can rest assured," Mewtwo said confidently. "I will personally choose partners for each Pokémon, ensuring they're placed with those who deserve them."

With those words, Mewtwo turned and departed. As it disappeared into the horizon, Alexander chuckled, pulling out his phone.

Opening the group chat, he sent a quick message:

"Anyone up for a day trip to the Pokémon world? Let's go!"
