"What is this place? Why am I here?"
Mewtwo looked around in confusion. It vividly remembered being confined in that sealed container, yet now it found itself in this strange place.
Gone were the annoying humans who had surrounded it before. Instead, three peculiar "Pokémon" sat before it—engrossed in a card game.
"Strange... They're playing cards?" Mewtwo thought, bemused. "I suppose I should ask them where this place is."
Hovering toward the group, Mewtwo stopped before the closest one and spoke in a blunt, almost mechanical tone. "What kind of Pokémon are you? Where is this place?"
Mewtwo's sharp question instantly drew the attention of all three beings, who turned their gazes toward it in unison.
"Hahaha! A newcomer!" Kurama exclaimed excitedly. "No, wait—a new beast! Finally, we can stop playing 'Fight the Landlord'! This is great!"
Hearing this, Chopper silently nodded. "True. At last, no more card games."
"Indeed," agreed Gugalanna with a solemn nod. "Now we can play mahjong instead."
---
Meanwhile, Mewtwo couldn't help but feel an inexplicable sense of connection to these peculiar beings. Compared to the humans who had created it, these creatures seemed far less threatening and more approachable.
"Where is this? Who are you? And where is Team Rocket?" Mewtwo pressed further.
Kurama paused for a moment before replying, "Ah, I see—you must be new here. Hang on a second, let me figure out who you are and which world you're from."
With that, Kurama pulled out a tablet, snapped a quick picture of Mewtwo, and began an online search. Within seconds, its eyes widened as it scanned the results.
"A Pokémon created by humans? This is interesting!" Kurama exclaimed. "Superpowers, teleportation, energy manipulation, telepathy, memory alteration, hypnosis—what kind of cheat-level abilities are these? This is incredible! But wait... what's this?"
Kurama' eyes landed on an image of another Pokémon—specifically, a Ninetales. For a brief moment, it froze before slamming its paw down on Mewtwo's shoulder.
"From now on, you're my brother," Kurama declared solemnly.
---
"Brother? Who are you to act so familiar with me?" Mewtwo instinctively raised a hand to brush Kurama' paw off, but it hesitated mid-motion.
"Brother..." The word lingered in Mewtwo's mind, stirring a deep longing. "But... I'm just an artificial creation. How could I have a brother?"
"You've misunderstood," Mewtwo began, its tone softening. "I am not your brother. I was created by humans."
Kurama waved the comment away dismissively. "It doesn't matter. Created by humans, born naturally—what difference does it make? We all come from the same creator. If I say you're my brother, then you are my brother."
Mewtwo was taken aback. A warmth it had never known before surged through its heart. Apart from Amber, this was the first time anyone had treated it as an equal—a sentiment that left waves of emotion rippling through its mind.
Before it could fully process this newfound feeling, Kurama pulled Mewtwo down to sit beside the group. Gugalanna then produced a set of mahjong tiles seemingly out of nowhere.
"What is this?" Mewtwo asked, its curiosity piqued as it examined the strange tiles. Despite its mature voice, Mewtwo was, in truth, only a year old. Like a child, it was brimming with curiosity.
Kurama leaned forward, a mischievous glint in its eye. "Do you want to know the meaning of life?"
Mewtwo blinked, nodding earnestly. "I do."
Kurama gestured toward the mahjong tiles. "Then sit down. The meaning of life is right here."
Taking the dealer's seat, Kurama shuffled the tiles while Gugalanna and Chopper took their places. Mewtwo watched the three with a growing sense of intrigue.
