The temperature around him surged wildly, especially around his hands. Unexpectedly, Kain pressed his hand to the ground, directly unleashing the recently activated magic skill into the earth instead of attacking Cody.
Cody hadn't yet understood the meaning of Kain's action when he saw the ground beneath him turn molten red, like charcoal burning in a furnace. Smoke billowed, and then, the ground exploded, shattering into a massive sinkhole.
The entire ground turned into a viscous, molten mass, causing the Golem's feet to immediately sink into it. Cody's expression changed. He was about to leap out when Kain shouted,
"Mera!"
Almost immediately after, a powerful gust of wind slammed down, momentarily stiffening the Golem's movements and pinning it in place. Seizing this opportunity, Kain continued to release magic, but instead of directly targeting Cody, Kain placed his hand on the ground once more.
